It’s just a more realistic outlook.

It’s time for us to put up or shut up.

Stop the hype and prove it on the field .

I think some fans just need to believe we are a SB contender to get fired up for the season .
Not at all. This isn't a fandom thing. As a NFL fan the Cowboys are a legit SB contender. ITs just what it is. IT think some of you guys do this to soften the blow in case we fail and lose in the first round again. But they are a legit SB Contender. They are one of the few teams who have the ability to be top 10 in offense and top 10 in defense. Possibly tops in defense.

I think too many people don't realize Aaron is declining. This is Farve part 2 to me.
yes he is , but he is still better than most others. I think the new team will revitalize him if things go well early on.

Like clockwork every year these teams are over hyped: Cowboys, Lakers, and Ysnkees.

What changes have the Jets made over the years? They literally suck and suck and suck and suck and they finally for once stopped messing up draft picks. Jets are the model organization huh? And it's funny the 80 year old clown show has been better than the Jets.
That is our new team motto. Hey at least we are better than the Jets.

Hype sells and hyping the Cowboys really sells.

There are legitimate reasons for optimism and legitimate concerns as well. Same goes for every other contender.

As always, it will come down to health, luck, and who makes the handful of difference making plays when they matter most.

So the Cowboys draft poor but the Jets, Pats and Chiefs draft well? I Think you need to check out the last I don't know 10 years of Cowboys draft history. It will compare with some of the best teams in the league.
Where did I say the Jets draft well? Yes, the Cowboys don't draft well. If they did, don't you think there would be a championship season somewhere in the last two decades. We'll try this a little differently, why don't you tell me why we haven't won squat in almost 30 years? I told you my reason. Again, please understand what was different when we were winning SBs and now. Therein lies the answer. You and I see things differently. At the end of the season, I'm not disappointed as my expectation are low. I don't feel that this team will win anything until such time as the Jones no longer own the team. You may feel differently.

Lol, you don't know crap about the draft. Your football knowledge is low.

I tend to take more realistic viewpoints based on current trends and recent history. My intention here isn’t to shoot down hopes or excitement for the season but only the SB Hype. Not sure why we need to buy in to be on the edge of our seats ?

I do agree this is a time for renewed hope as preseason and training camp always are. And I mentioned our last couple years provides us some mojo heading into this season. But the disappointing endings also provides us cause for pause in the hype .

I believe we are a top 5 team in NFC which means a playoff team but if we don’t win division then we will be facing 3 playoff games on the road to reach SB and why I said if we can win division our opportunity elevates . Why wouldn’t we wait until season begins to play out before more Hype?
Yeah, I forgot, realistic. The rest of us are merely misinformed bandwagoneers. Slobbering fools with no insight or dedication. Apologies to the homegrown intellectuals…

We are a playoff contender not a SB one. How can we be a SB contender when we keep choking in the playoffs year after year? Get back to me after Thanksgiving because that's when the cracks begin to show. It showed last year but many didn't want to see it.

Ok my mistake your point about the Jets confused me you said they draft top 5 every year so I thought you were saying that’s why they will be good this year.

Drafting well does not guarantee success. There’s really no blueprint on how to win. Rams suck at drafting but they won.

As far as why they haven’t done anything in 30 years it’s of course because of Jerry. But this team is not rah the same way it was 30 years ago. More importantly it’s been a much more respectable franchise since McCarthy has come here.

1999 has no relevance on 2023.

How? They have improved a 13 win team. That's how.

Basic factors leading to success…

1)Talent acquisition through the draft and free agency.
2)Coaching
3)Team health, injuries
4)Officiating
5)Circumstance, luck

Mostly positive in each category characterizes a playoff team.
