I don't know if they're over hyped or not. I just hope they come out and play a good football game opening night.

Don't need to be laughed at.....again

Here we are again heading into the season with the Cowboys predicted by too many fans to be a SB contender without any recent playoff success.

If we aren’t even picked to win our division then we’d have to win 3 playoff games on the road .

I understand our defense should be better and we are revamping our offense but our new offensive scheme is totally unproven . And I understand the NFC appears down with most of the better QB’s and teams in AFC.

But why would we propel ourselves ahead other more proven teams and QB’s in the NFC like Phil and SF. Both with more recent playoff success , NFC championship & SB appearances .

Even with departure of Brady and Rodgers from NFC which appears to take those two teams from contention there is still 2 other QB’s in NFC with playoff success and SB appearances which I’ll be watching to see if their teams have turned around . One is considered by many to be one of the teams to watch for this year.

But until we can take the next step in the playoffs kicking down the huge monkey on our backs along with our QB’s back then I’d argue we are still more SB Pretenders than Contenders until further evidence.

This doesn’t mean we can’t have some positive mojo heading into this season. We have had two consecutive 12 win seasons and finally won a road playoff game but IMO it’s not enough for the SB Hype .

I’m looking forward to see how this team develops offensively and defensively. Can we win our division . If we can then our chances increase if we can get a playoff game or two at home. At that time then we can begin setting higher expectations . I’m not sure why some fans need to have this hype surrounding our team to get excited about the season.
It’s what has made the NFL and the Dallas Cowboys into the twin of the greatest businesses in the world. HOPE. It’s what differentiates the NFL from the NBA and MLB. Every team has a chance before the season starts. Regardless of market size, regardless of past failure, regardless of what talking heads say, every fan has HOPE.

We are a playoff contender not a SB one. How can we be a SB contender when we keep choking in the playoffs year after year? Get back to me after Thanksgiving because that's when the cracks begin to show. It showed last year but many didn't want to see it.
So no one is a SB contender other than the Chiefs and Eagles then?

I’d argue based on current history which I’d define as recent SB and championship appearances that KC, Phi, Cinn, Buff and SF are all SB contenders.

Teams like Dallas could become SB contenders once they get past a divisional round playoff game. As always must be proven on the field .

Sure up and coming teams....teams that have played in championship games. I really don't know how anyone thinks that next year is going to be any different for us. It's like Lucy pulling the football from Charlie Brown. It's the same thing year after year no matter who the players are. Maybe if we go into the playoffs playing really well I'll give in and believe a little but history says that the team will start to show it's cracks after Thanksgiving.

And I know some say that the last 27 years doesn't matter for this team but it does. Because the pressure gets harder the further they go and everyone's going to be talking about it. It really isn't that way with other teams because they aren't under the microscope like we are. As much as I'm uncertain with Dak right now the pressure on him in the playoffs is probably greater than any other qb.

Classic overhype. This year will be the big let down. Chances of having 3 double digit winning seasons in a row, nah not happening.
They are going to turn Dak loose this year in a dumbed down Dak offense with McCarthy thinking Dak is Rodgers.

We will have a few big wins but teams will learn how to shut him down quickly and confuse him. With Dak, you only rush 4. If you can get pressure with 4, Dak is useless. He just can't adjust when the secondary gets crowded and starts stutter stepping and throwing ints.

I do think they will win at least 10 games, and have a good shot to win 12. But is that the ceiling again? If it doesn't translate to at least a conference title game appearance to break the streak then it becomes a let down.

Anybody that says that Dallas doesn't draft well doesn't know what they are talking about. Totally ignorant. This will be the third year in a row that they would have won at least 12 games and they are a top 3 team in the NFC.
So this year they will win 12 games? And isn't this at least the 2nd year in a row that the o-line needs help/depth?
And if they draft so well, when does it translate into post season wins. You're a typical uninformed homer. Jerry loves you.

If you followed the league you would know that every needs help/depth in the oline. What do you mean if? Just look at their roster. They won a post season last year. You are just totally ignorant. Why don't learn about the draft and the league. That is if you like football.

Lol, has absolutely nothing to do with the current outstanding team. That's like taking the Mahomes Chiefs back to the Lenny Dawson days.
Last I checked Mahomes and his Chiefs have been in five AFCCGs, and 3 SB appearances (2 wins) in his time as a starter. Why would they want to harken back to the 60s, they are killing it now? They are considered a top team in the NFL today, not paper tigers.

They went 50 years between Super Bowls. There are a bunch crybabies that talk about 27 years ago like it has something to do with the current team.
