I don't know about the hype, but it's an exciting defense. The offense is an unknown but it should be fun to watch something other than Moore's Garrettesque failure when it matters.

You're either building towards a window or that window is open.. and it's open right now. That doesn't guarantee anything, but they're good enough to be in the conversation. We'll see what the hype looks like come January?

The Cowboys are only over-hyped by their mouthpiece of an owner who is a chronic sufferer of foot-in-mouth disease. Every year he pronounces that they “like our guys” or have found the “secret sauce” or have the “best team and QB” and are ready to win the Super Bowl.
The Cowboys are talented, but because of Jerrry they are also entitled…and soft and that shows itself towards the latter half of the season and in the playoffs.
Yep.. and many of our fans drink the kool-aid.

We can be excited about the prospects of our season without buying into the SB Hype.

Every team is overhyped two weeks before the season.

The realities that must be faced after game #1 for 16 teams is a harsh experience.
Beat me to it. I would say every team is overhyped until they take the field.

We are in the top 5 NFC, there should be little question there.
I’d agree with that . Only problem is we could be only team in top 5 with all playoff games on the road . And why the seedings need to be changed.

Yea right. I’ve been a bandwagon fan since 1963. Lol

Get over it Rockie. Not everyone is a Blind Homer.
No, you’re the definition of a band wagoner. You said it yourself, if they start winning in January you’ll change your mind. That’s a band wagoner.

Have you been to a home game,, not trying to be a wise guy, but I would actually rather fly into a road game than fly into to watch a home game.
I stand up at our home games and yell at everyone behind me and next to me and in front of me to put down their stupid phones.
I'm known for that in my area, I have personally got several hundred fans at least in my section to stand up and acknowledge the request with a middle finger or their cell phone in the air.
LOL, it's a great experience but I felt the movement to actual game attention needed to have a leader in my section.

Right but like I said wouldn’t expect us to win 3 playoff games on the road.

How many teams in NFL are being hyped to be a SB contender that aren’t even picked to win their division?

And why I’m saying we are being over hyped . Doesn’t mean we can’t do it . I just don’t expect it based on our recent history, trends and not winning division .

If we do then my view could change . It’s called reevaluating our situation on current trends . And why where we are in Dec and Jan could influence my view. That’s sound analysis.
No, it’s called being a band wagoner fan.

I haven't gone for the hype in years. But this year is different. I think the Cowboys defense barring injuries will be the best they have had in years. I think the offense with CeeDee and Cooks, with Pollard as the RB1, will also be pretty good.

All we need, like every other team, is to stay healthy and avoid giving games away. Why not the Cowboys to win the SB? I think the eagles lost a little in the offseason and the Cowboys gained a lot. I am under no illusions that the Giants and Eagles will not be tough outs. They will be. But Dallas is a good team too.

So bandwagon fans buy season tickets for 4 decades , travel to road games with the team and haven’t missed a game for 60 years ?

I’m a Homer, not a blind Homer.

You can conduct your fandom however suits your beliefs . If you don’t know what buying the hype means then I can’t help you . I think it’s pretty obvious the vibe we are seeing .

I’m here to provide my view. Which is still looking forward to the season and hopes of success. But with our recent history and trends in playoffs pardon me if I wait until at least December or January before I raise my expectations.

I’ll like our chances much more if we can win our Division with at least a couple playoff games at home . I’m not sure why so many fans need to buy into the hype to be excited about the season.
Exactly what I thought. You make this claim what OTHERS are doing but then you can not link to a single thread or post on this board to back up this claim of all these people buying into the SB hype.
You cant even define it...... but you know, lots of people are saying us fans are buying into the hype.... right?

No, a band wagon fan is someone like you who doesn’t believe in the Cowboys until they make the NFCC game. That’s you by your own words.

Can't call anyone who spends a majority of their time year round talking about this team a bandwagon fan. Anyone who is a bandwagon fan would be on the KC train right now.

Playoff home games are different . I’d recommend attending. The crowd is different . Very few opposing fans .

Regardless it’s a disadvantage than traveling on the road 3 playoff games potentially in bad or cold weather venues where they have a decided advantage.

No. They are prob Homers . Homers that can complain all the way to the bank.

Blind homers are like cheerleaders . There’s room for all types of fans . But who are you more likely to look to for sound analysis ?

The Diehard fan in the stands or the cheerleader . It’s why the guys in the booth provide play by play not the girls on the field .

Still waiting on who’s doing all this “Super Bowl Hype” you keep talking about.

Since schedules are not balanced, how would seeding be changed, unless you do away with divisions? And the first four teams that would adamantly be against that are the four NFC East teams. It is unfortunate that the Cowboys have put together a tremendous roster right when another team in the division has as well.
