Jerry tipping the Cowboys hand to the other owner he is facing in the playoffs(someone on the board in Green Bays case)

Obviously they aren't going to make it obvious every year.

But Jerry, assuming this is real, has refs helping him meet his business objectives. It's in all owners interest to let Jerry drive up revenue. Not just for himself...but he helps all owners make money by sacrificing Dallas to sports media drama.

The last decade has added to our continued disappointment and frustration this era and 21st Century.

We currently have the longest drought for a NFC conference championship game appearance at 29 years and counting.

And it appears the drought will continue for years to come.

All we have to hang our hat on this era with current ownership is we are the wealthiest , most viewed and most hated franchise in the NFL.

It’s a win win deal for the league. Jethro’s revenue brilliance continues generating the huge cash cow while his football idiocy reduces success on the field hovering around average.

The good news for all of the fans less than about 50 years old is Jethro is 82 and his stranglehold on football operations should end in their lifetime providing hope beyond.

For all of the old timers , we hold close to our hearts the glory eras from the 1st 4 decades which can’t be taken away.

Jerry has 3 Bowls, he ain't trying to win. Unless the players go rogue and take it into their own hands on the field. Then, they will still have to beat the refs that are paid to make Dallas lose in Playoffs since Jerry monetized the game and is making everyone money at the Cowboys expense of early playoff exits.

Until public sentiment forces the NFL to make the Cowboys win a Super Bowl, or until after Jerry passes and Stephen takes over and wants to win a few for his own legacy(assuming he does)...things aren't changing.

I’ll take on your questions.

First of all I don’t agree with the GOAT narrative. All you can be is the greatest of your era.

And I’d argue Russell was greatest in his era much like Jordan.

I don’t believe Shaq was greatest in his era.

There’s no evidence the refs are “being paid to make the Cowboys lose in Playoffs “. And by evidence I mean more than a personal opinion.

First of all, thank you for your service.

All Diehard loyal fanatics aren’t bound to an all out positive outlook regardless the results.

I would think with your military background you’d know when it’s time to retreat or regroup facing potential failure.

And this era for Cowboys fans surely you can sympathize with fans dejected positive outlook based on recent history and trends.

That doesn’t mean we lost the war continuing to battle on or they don’t care holding a glimmer of hope while continuing to root on and support their team.

But decades of disappointing results naturally creates uncertainty and critical thinking. Surely everyone can relate.

Drama sells if you barely miss the playoffs

Drama sells if you get knocked out early in playoffs

This is sports media driven.

I don't even think Jerry wants to make it to Conference Championship...that's not enough Drama.

He wants people screaming at the TV, griping to their co-workers, going online and becoming unhinged at the QB and management and coaches.

This is beyond the sport.

My question is, assuming this is all real, what is stopping deep pocket fund managers from buying teams and replicating Jerry's business model?

Money is the root of all evil, they say. Why is Jerry the chosen one? Why can't others copy this model for profit? And why haven't they?

Is that question even able to be answered?

I think this shows the failure of this front office to completely build a team. The Joneses have come to understand the importance of drafting to the degree that they can draft a pretty good team. They understand the importance of trades and cheap free agency to supplement the drafting. What they don't understand or simply refuse to believe is the importance of quality free agency to finish the team.

Why we do not perform well in the playoffs is because we face other teams that do the first two aspects of team building about the same as us, but they use the third aspect (quality free agency) better than us. Therefore, we run into superior teams. Many (most) of our victories during our good years came against inferior teams that don't do some aspects of roster building as well as us.

I think as fans we tend to overrate coaching. Yes, it's important, but a Bill Belichick can go from a mediocre head coach for one team to a great one for another with the right parts. The talent is the most important factor in success.

You realize I was responding to a post that said our record in the last 10 years was elevated by our weak conference, right?

The numbers I shared only reinforced the comment of the poster that we have feasted on our weak conference…and we won’t have that luxury with Washington moving forward.
