As much of a feel-good story Alson Smith is, this just smells like a Jerry dishing out the money, and then the player falls back into trouble story to me. I hope I'm wrong but this just seems to be the norm around this franchise.

DLaw is tied for 58th in QB pressures with half a dozen other players. He doesn't even lead the team. ASmith is ahead of him.

I think we can agree, that DLaw was playing hurt earlier on in the season and is now starting to look like his old self more.

DLaw has been looking good in the last few games. He's looking like he looks when playing well. Sometimes his old self looked that way. Many times not. Even with the latest burst, his production in the last year isn't near his salary.
