If Sean Payton were to become available, I'd certainly be thinking about it.

Especially considering the prospect of having to deal with Payton ending up in Philadelphia.

I'm not exactly sure why. But I think Payton would prefer to be in Philly sticking it to Jerry than taking orders from him. Yes I know he has house in Dallas, blah, blah, blah. He has a history of messing with Jurrel, can't see him just being happy to bend over for him.

Well as long as you have a coach you're "comfortable" with, Jerry. And while you're at it, have another drink old man. Amazing no one in his family loves him enough to stage an intervention and tell him he's the laughing stock of the NFL. Being a successful carnival barker and a successful football man are not the the same thing.

I would love to see someone else in charge, that doesn't mean he deserves firing after he lost his 3 best players from the prior season, and he still had his team in position to win most of there games.

So "in position" is some accomplishment now? The fact is that the guy brings nothing other than tired rah rah rhetoric to the table. He flunked every test presented to him this season. Romo has been bailing him out ever since he's been here and it's never been more apparent.

I'm a fan man: He deserves one more year

I'm a fan too, but I don't see where he "deserves" anything. But I agree with you that whether we like it or not, given Jerry's comfort and not wanting to pay $24 million and admit failure, Garrett is sure to be back.

I think he'd choose Dallas with what they have over going to Philadelphia. But I don't expect that Jerry would pay $24 million to Garrett and then another boatload for Payton on top of it. Wishful thinking.

Besides the playful champagne bottle thing, I don't think Payton has much ill will towards Jones.

Well, on the bright side, I think Jerry was referring to the 2016 season. So, maybe, just maybe, if the team stinks next year, Jerry will finally take the blinders off and fire his buddy.

The bad thing about this is Jerry will waste another year on Jason. So if Jason is fired next season this will demonstrate that the GM made an error in judgement. If Jerry wonders why he hasn't been in a Super Bowl for years then he needs to take a look at the mirror.

Another wasted season is probably coming to past.

I would agree more if we weren't in the twilight of Romo's career. We've wasted too many years already on the HC-in-training, and this year with his utter inability to win anything without Romo has exposed Garrett for who he is IMO.

I meant fare. When you're rolling out the lousy Matt Cassel and then Moore, you better believe I'll respect a guy who gives me a chance in 4th qbr. Too bad for Jason neither qb could make a play when one was desperately needed.

Jason made mistakes w Weeden

The same guy who brought the "lousy" guys here.

The same guy who can't win with anybody other than Romo!

The worse part is the bar is set so low for next year that Garrett will get another free pass. 7-9 or 8-8 will have Jerrah crowing about the great strides Jason made from a 4-12 record.

6 years in one playoff appearance, one winning season. Meanwhile the NFL playoffs are full of coaches with less tenure.

What if goes 11-5. Tony and Dez back. Draft a runner. Selecting at the top of each round. Last place schedule. No real expectations. Jason in do or die year: sounds like a scenario this team thrives in!!

Of course not. Jason Garrett is the "adopted" son. He will get ample time to prove he sucks.

Just take a look at Jerry. He owns the team, and he's granted himself twenty years as GM to prove he sucks, and he's still going strong!

Garrett has been a secondary curse to this franchise since he came here. The primary curse is his boss of course.
