Signed by Cowboys Cowboys pick up Zeke option

Zeke may be the best back in the league, but it means nothing without a good balanced attack. Teams are going key on Zeke and do what the Colts did and what the Rams did in the playoff game. Hopefully Moore will open up the offense.

No, but someone did say Salsa!
I immediately pictured in my minds eye that cut scene where Michael Douglas is scoobing with Kathleen Turner in their new bought dancing duds from that "Romancing the Stone" flic,,,o_O

Shocking news.

Yet we have some dummies on here that think Stephen was bluffing on this and that he is going to get a second contract starting with Gurley figures!

Stephen can certainly be full of crap at times but not when it comes to Zeke!

this is a smart move and it buys us a little time to negotiate....its critical we have dlaw, cooper, dak, zeke and jsmith all wrapped up for long term within the next 2 years....

Zeke could walk out of camp and demand a new deal.

We are lucky if he reports.

We want teams to key on Zeke. 8 man fronts are good.

That means man coverage on our WRs.

Unfortunately, Dak has issues with reading defenses....

Nah, Zeke will be physically broken down by the time he's 27-28, no need for a huge long term contract that will hamstring the organization for a guy that would be a shell of his 2019 self.

He's locked in for at least the next two years, then they can FT him for at least one more, maybe two. After that they can politely ask him to take a hometown discount type of contract (in order for a chance to finish it out in Big D and play with his buddies), or let him walk.

'Boys can afford to take a RB high in the draft in 2021 and/or 2022 to make sure they have Plan B in place.

He's not locked in.

He can hold out for a better deal, just like Emmitt in '93.

Emmitt got his $$$ and we got an 0-2 start.

Pay Zeke.

We picked up the option on this fat/in shape leading rusher/over rated carefree/idiot?!

Did I miss anything?
Punk,,, Drunk Punk,,, but great/elite RB when not suspended.

Huge difference. Emmitt was not under contract and could not be fined. Zeke is under contract for another 2 years and would be fined a hefty sum. There is no need to rush into an extension.

Biggest numbskull.

I think Gregory takes that honor by a mile. No doubt Zeke needs to grow up and to an extent he is but these incidents will cost him if he does not get it together and understand what is on the line

Zeke is currently #1 in the entire NFL for RB fully guaranteed money and #3 for total guaranteed.

What exactly is he holding out for ? He's arguably the highest paid player at his position and the worst case scenario is him making high tier money now and then becoming a free agent at only 25 years old........ (once again what is he holding out for ? He's in a GREAT SITUATION RIGHT NOW)

Another huge difference was Emmitt was underpaid for his first 3 years. Zeke is one of the top 3 highest paid in the entire NFL for his position right now even 3 years after being drafted (not underpaid, paid very well).

Being a top 5 pick can screw pro bowl level players at positions like DE and QB but for RB it's actually a great freaking deal
