Cowboys Charter Flight Delayed

OXNARD, Calif. - Well, everyone is here at Naval Air Station Point Mugu. The mayor of Oxnard. The police chief. All the military dignitaries. Us. And the people here on the base, already getting lined up for autographs.
Problem is, the Dallas Cowboys aren't here yet, their charter flight out to training camp delayed about an hour because of mechnical difficulties on the ground, pushing back their takeoff for about an hour.
Even Cowboys kicker Nick Folk is here, actually sitting on Cowboys Bus with me -in the air conditioning as we await the team's arrival. Folk's parents live down the the PCH not far from here, and the rookie Pro Bowl kicker had been spending some time with the family before heading up here for training camp. Having already checked into camp, Folk road down here with a few people from the marketing department.
Boy, sure is a little intimidating getting checked on to the military base. We had to step out of the bus as the sniffing dogs were led on for security reasons at the front gate. But it's sure been a treat seeing some of the planes here practicing steeply banked turns and touch-and-go's as we await the team's arrival.
So for those expecting a 4 p.m. (PDT) press conference, beware. that will be delayed, too.
