Hopefully they were really there to look at Kendricks again and are lying about it by saying it was Hundley.

Can't say I'm not intrigued. Especially by his completion %. But pocket presence is key in the NFL.

Another guy with extreme tunnel vision, will panic or run for it if his first read is not open.

I dont know what's so crazy about looking at the qbs. yes, the qb class is weak, but maybe with all these workouts they will find someone that they like and is a good fit. I hope we get 3 more years out of Romo, but that back is a huge question mark. That hit against Washington wasnt even a kill shot, and his back was broken. Better to be forward thinking in regard to a soon to be 35 year old qb with major back issues.

When one of your players is heading to the draft and the media asks how you think that player will do and the HC says...he is not ready for the NFL...that is a pretty damning statement IMO.

That would indicate to me that the coach might think he will never be ready IMO.

Last year, the Cowboys were reportedly engaged in internal debate about whether or not to pick quarterbackJohnny Manziel in the first round.

Owner Jerry Jones was said to be banging the drum for Manziel, but the voices arguing in favor of guard Zack Martin won out. That was a good thing for the Cowboys as Martin made a good offensive line into the best in the league while Manziel flopped in Cleveland before heading to rehab this offseason.

The Cowboys could still use a young quarterback to back up Tony Romo now and potentially step in after his career comes to an end at some point down the road, which has put quarterbacks on their scouting list before this year’s draft. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that they worked out UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley in Los Angeles on Thursday.

They’ve also spent time with Baylor’s Bryce Petty and both quarterbacks are seen as prospects that will need some time to acclimate their games to the NFL before they’ll be ready for a starting job. Dallas could provide them with that chance to develop while shoring up their depth chart behind Romo.

Before someone says anything, the topic of this thread is more about grooming a backup or even a successor to Romo than a draft article.

I'd like to see someone who can both scramble and make plays as well as be a pocket passer who can also run the ball. I realize they can all run but I'm speaking of someone who runs more 4.5ish than Romo's 5.0ish.

I wouldn't mind a Brett Hundley or Bryce Pettyif they were available in the 4th round or lower. It would be great to have a QB in place when that day comes.

Was really high on Hundley coming into last season... He regressed last year.. I really don't think he will be a good NFL QB.. But I've been wrong before...

Wasn't the only time you've been wrong was when you thought you were wrong but was actually right? :)

I like this! A real "groomer" needs to be brought in.

Not sure if you mean "groomer" as in the prospect or who we would have working with them.

With the number of mechanical and technical flaws with Hundley, I would be hesitant to pair him with Wade Wilson, who I have very little confidence in.
