IRVING, Texas -- On Wednesday, Jason Garrett announced changes at quarterback (from Brandon Weeden toMatt Cassel) and left guard (from Ronald Leary to La’el Collins). He wasn’t ready to announce any change at the running back spot.

While Joseph Randle might remain the starter, it’s clear Christine Michael will get more opportunities when the Cowboys play the New York Giants on Oct. 25.

The Cowboys acquired Michael from the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 6. He was inactive for the first three games as he learned the offense, and got one carry in each of the last two losses to the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots.

“I think he’s where he needs to be, and we want to take the reins off him and let him rock,” running backs coach Gary Brown said.

At 5-foot-10 and 221 pounds, Michael is bigger than Randle and Darren McFadden. His size can help the offensive line.

Dallas needs what Murray (who I hate bringing up because he isn't here) brought last season. Toughness. What Marshawn or AP or Chris Ivory bring to their teams.

Randle looks like he's going to fall down every time he breaks a hole.

I absolutely guarantee the people hyping Michael will be here blaming the offensive line if he doesn't look good. It has nothing to do with Randle's issues, but those already anointing Michael will use it as an excuse.

Both the Oline and Cmike will look good compared to the "south Florida real estate" we've been fielding for 5 weeks. I bet money on that.

We'll find out soon. I see no reason to anoint Michael and he's done nothing to seperate himself from Randle. I'd love for either or both of them to find some running room this week, but I don't think there is an NFL quality starting running back on this team.

I expect Collins' impact to be far more significant than Michael or even Cassel.

Randle excels in the 3rd down change of pace "scat" role. Now that he is going back to that role, he will do very well AND CMike will excel as the lead dog. This will rejuvenate the Oline right there alongside the other factors feeding into Oline improvement (bye week, getting healthy, La'el change).

I see a carry distribution of 50% Cmike, 30% Randle, 20% other. A recipe for success.

Did I miss the part where anyone has said Michael is now the lead back? Because I haven't seen that even hinted at anywhere. Michael may get his chances, but Randle will still get more carries.

I will be more than willing to eat my crow if Michael becomes something special, but you better not load up with excuses if he doesnt.

I sincerely think you want to be *right* about Michael so bad its clouding your judgment.

It's all good man. I just want to see Ws and I firmly believe CMike will help in that respect. Everything else is gravy to me.

If the OL play doesn't improve, you are absolutely correct. People have been defending the OL and placing the majority of the blame on Randle. Those same people will go right on to the OL hasn't been good train to keep the Michael dream alive. People are using their preconceived notions of Randle and not their eyes. I would probably put it at 30-40% on bad blocking, 20-30% playcalling and 30-50% on Randle. Anyone who can't admit there's more going on than Randle just sucks I just can't take seriously.

We'll I'm glad you can take me seriously bc there's plenty going on more than Randle but his magical disappearing act has been a major catalyst. David Blaine has been in awe.
