Cowboys release first official depth chart of season

Hes listed as a backup. Something he has never done. They will not let him return punts during the regular season.

Remember, these are open practices. Once they get back to Dallas, things will settle out.

I suspect a guy like Cropper getting looks. Not sure why he isnt. Hes done it and has much better speed. Durden has done it.

Not sure about Tolbert.

But Duece isnt making this roster as a backup punt returner and personal punt protector.
man as dug in on this as you have been i guess there is no turning back now...... keep on digging.

In training camp and pre season. Just as much as any of our other backup RB’s
Yah right........when? The guy hasnt shown anything other then maybe a run here or there against backups. Hes been hurt most of the time.

I mean it’s nothing worth arguing over. We will see if he stay healthy this year or not.

How pathetic would it be if the Cowboys failed soo badly at the RB position in the offseason that Dowdle and Davis were our 2nd and 3rd back?

In a year where there we lots of good backs in FA that could have been had for cheap and with a draft loaded with quality backs all the way into the 5th round.

Jerry always does one or two things really badly in the offseason to ruin our chances of having a great season.

-RB
-Oline
-Kicker

Pretty sad considering they talked about improving the run game as much as anything this year.

I just havent see anything from the guy. Been hurt his first two years. When ever we get a glimpse at him, nothing jumps off the screen for me.

Just cant understand why this guy is even on the roster. Maybe he will show what the coaches are talking about if he can stay healthy for preseason.

Problem is our backup Oline is terrible. Hard to imagine them getting a legit opportunity.

Well I agree that we need to see more.

I also have big time concerns about the backup OL.

Truth be told. So so running backs wouldn’t be a concern if our OL was dominant like it used to be. Unfortunately that’s not the case anymore.

We are 100% in agreement. You can have average backs do well behind dominant Olines. Thats why I would always pay the line and not the back.

Eagles last year were a perfect example.

Not really sure that all this handwringing over the O-line is well-informed... I mean, how could it?... If we assume all this talk about how deep our D-line is is accurate (and I'm inclined to believe it is), then all you actually can conclude with any merit is that the O-line isn't up to par with our D-line. It won't be until you get to see our O-line versus others' D-lines that you've got a legitimate measure.

Until then, I'm calling BS on all the DC media whining about the back-up O-line as a group and individually... I mean, healthy skepticism bears in-mind that these guys have to have something to fill minutes on camera and column inches in print. Has to be something to criticize and be pessimistic beyond the rookie kicker.
