RELEASED Cowboys release Joe Milton; added to PS

Just seeing Howell was named the backup...if that's the case then I can easily see Milton wanting to be let go after that. And the Cowboys doing it.

yeah, that i get, but he had to have some value to someone out there....a backup qb, they could have gotten somethign you would think? I dont get it sometimes but it is what it is

There's some talk that maybe Milton asked for his release. He didn't want to be a 3rd string QB

Then I understand the release then. If he's not buying in then let him go. Certainly understand it. He made a huge improvement but he still had some ways to go so I stand corrected if he asked for it.

this is a QB driven league not a TE driven league. I’m more than happy to part with a backup TE who’s reached his peak than a QB who has potential. Especially when our QB is injury prone and 33.

Exactly lol, and I do suspect he'll get a couple call ups starting week 1 to be QB3. And then, if he's not claimed, he'll probably be back on the 53 in week 4 anyway.

I just read through the "Would you trade Joe Milton" thread. It's interesting to re-visit. Even if he lands back on the PS, a lot of bubbles were burst today. Those only willing to trade him for starting OT or high pick(s). He could stay or go IMO-- I dont think its significant either way.

I would think so but I also think the Cowboys aren't incompetent enough to not try and field offers. If it was some 6th or 7th rounders then I guess they said they'd rather just cut him and let him find his own team? I

Dak or not, most of the league aren't impressed by a few preseason games. Some people on this board just hates Dak.

I can see the Falcons giving him a chance if either of their 2 injury prone QBs go down or if Tua gets cut.

THis team has no intent on drafting a QB next year unless its late. And at that point is he really anything more than Howell or MIlton or Rush or any of these other guys? Sure there's a chance he's Dak pt. 2...but he's more than likely Stephen McGee or Mike White pt 2.

Wasted a 4th on Lance and now a 5th on Milton.

Yup, don’t know why they keep trading for QBs, decent picks, when we have Dak and there’s always at least a couple viable back ups to pick vs continuing to trade for them and then throwing them away.

It's the Jones family way. They are kids at the grown up's table in this league regarding front offices. The Eagles front office has ran circles around them starting at the turn of the century. Heck, even the Giants front office put together a real good team for about a decade stretch.

And that's only listing our own division teams.
