RELEASED Cowboys release Michael Gallup

I think the so called regular season success will be hard to come by in the next few seasons.
They win 10 with the roster as its currently constructed if they make a few simple additions and change their run game philosphy I could see 12 again if the defense got better maybe lady luck shines

When Cooper was traded for just a fifth and Gallop was extended it there absolutely posters here who said good riddance and Gallop is younger and better.

I would post who but then I would get benched …..

i would bump those threads but then I would get benched ….

So feel free to just disagree with me.
fair enough I guess i missed it

Id love to know who said that cause i heard very little of that.In fact I heard many say that it was a mistake signing him especially with the injury. and that cooper wore out his welcome and dissapeared in big games
Yeah folks love lying online for some strange reason. It was most likely one or two people that said that if any but the poster makes it seem like that was the majority sentiment smh.

Should have given that money they used to sign Gallup to keep Cooper and let Gallup go a couple of years ago. Even I could see that back then. But, hey, Gallup was coming off a serious leg injury and Jones and Son seem to be fond of players that have a nice limp.

Gallup, LVE cut. Jerry and Stephen must have finally waken up and want to sign someone. :muttley:

Gallup hinted at some good things to come but was never the same after the injury. Just an occasional downfield big play guy.

Had some real nasty drops first half of last year, but thought he came on strong near the end of season.

No brainer, can find someone cheaper to do the same. Best of luck on your new team Gallup. I'm sure he'll get at least one more chance to play.

LOL. Have you met our owners/GMs?
Well you know they don't reach out to players or other teams. I guess that's why they gave him permission to seek a trade. Royalty doesn't call peasants.

Another of "their guys" over paid. Just the way it is here. If you're coming off an injury even better. Break a leg if want the big bucks.

Gallup was still better than Tolbert. He was our only WR to show up in the playoffs. We continue to lose talent. We’re going to be banking on a lot of young players next season.
For better or worse, it looks like you're right. I'm ok with it. We're either looking at an infusion of younger, cheaper talent filling starting roles, or a high draft slot to start a rebuild with a new coach. If we continue down this road, I'm interested to see who steps up. There are some nice prospect along the offensive line, as well as the secondary I'd like to see develop further.
