Just stop, what? Telling the truth? You can not deny the impact of a WR like Terrell Owens on a QB.

You can not in any way say Tony Romo's play will be better with the absence of a WR like Owens.. and Tony Romo' play was HORRID last season.

Thinking logically, it only goes downhill from here.

Well, Owens did "impact" Romo's game, but not in the way you mean.

Anyone with eyes could see that Romo felt obliged to force the ball to Owens (whether he was covered or not) in order to keep him from pouting. Now that he will no longer have to deal with that, there is every reason to expect a bounce back season from Romo.

BTW, Screamin' A admitted that TO thought Garrett and, yes, Witten were conspiring against him.

So once again, Werder wasn't full of crap.

Where is 5countem, again?

Remember that scene in Platoon where the guy hides under the dead bodies?

Maybe Stephen had some balls of his own and stood up to the old man and finally convinced him.

Regardless, good riddance. Take Ellis and Tank with you too. Clean out the house.

It will be completely refreshing to watch a post game press conference without THE WR acting as the voice of the Cowboys.

Lets get this 3 headed running monster going. We're going the right way.

How would we have the cap room to sign Housh when we just took a 10mil cap hit?

We did NOT take a 10 million dollars cap hit.

football sunday-wise this was a dumb move.

if ur worrying about headlines i guess this was the best thing.

me personally i dont give a damn what any of these guys does or says. all i care about is what happens on the field. i think dallas took a step backwards today sunday-wise.

when dallas is a .500 team next yr who's going to be blamed now?

Roy Williams. Wade. Garrett. Romo.

In that particular order.

Half the people in this thread that are happy about it, will think differently by week 6.

What like it could be any worse than last year by week 6 when the team was sloppy and the question where coming out and then Romo went down

i dont feel it was necessary to put the dead money and the what WRs are available threads merged into the TO thread.

This smells of a move to appease Garrett, who Jerry wants as his coach in waiting. This has nothing to do with talent.

Too bad it was Garrett who sucked last year. I have little to no confidence in him after his abysmal play calling. And after this move, I also have little trust in his character as well.
It isn't. Garrett told Jerry he wanted him back.

I'm as disappointed as the next guy.

But you know, he may have been a big playmaker and big threat on offense. But deep down, he was still the same T.O. that complains about not having enough touches and hassles his quarterback.

Romo should feel a lot less pressured about getting T.O. the ball now. With the locker room getting purged of these egostistical players, I can't see how this isn't a positive thing. In Jerry I trust.

But you act as if Romo never benefitted from a 1,000-yard, 10-plus TD wide receiver.

It's undeniable every QB T.O. played lengthy amounts of time with was better with him than without -- and all of them faced the same pressure to get him the ball or face his wrath.

I don't think Romo will become pond scum. But I highly doubt Romo will be chasing any 4,000-yard, 35-TD seasons without T.O. around.

Well I don't like it....but at least this removes one major excuse. The onus shifts completely to the team, but moreso the crappy OC, Tony Romo and that marshmellow of a coach.

I hope this is sarcasm.

Adam has posted that we have something like $14 mil left.... even with signing Ware to a Haynesworth-like contract we'd have somewhere around $7-8 mil... if I'm remembering his post correctly.

Housh's cap number is probably in the 5 mil range this upcoming season.

Jerry always knows how to surprise, doesn't he?

Well, I'm willing to take this risk. I know TO will score points wherever he goes. I know he's going to get his 1000 yards. I know that won't be easy to replace.

But I think you have to nip a problem in the bud. Whether anyone still wants to admit or not, the guy was a problem. He was "me-first", but so are a lot of other guys in the league. The bigger problem is how divisive he was, even if it was unintentional.

I think the dynamic of the entire team just changed. I think roles just got more well-defined. I think football finally became the story instead of a story.
