Cowboys release TO *Merged*

Still it's all speculation, and since our head coach . . . I mean GM Jerry is the mouth to the media with the gag order we really don't know. Just stating fact. Did not make any mention about your boy Garrett anyway.

He's gone because alot of people wanted him out of here, the owner wasnt the one who wanted him gone either.

Although the media does grab onto to something and beat it to death, don't you think Jerry would have weathered the storm and kept Owens if there really was no problem with Owens in the locker room and the reports were simply media B.S.? If they cut him, they had a darn good reason to eat that money.

Owens is fascinating. He honestly believes he's never in the wrong and he's just speaking his mind, without any concern for the effect it has on the team. He did it to SF, Phil, and now Dal.

The only way I like this move is if we make a move for a free agent WR or draft one with our first pick. I'd also like the prospect of sliding up in 2nd to grab a guy like Johnny Lee Higgens or Eddie Royal. Garrett was reportedly very interested in those two, so I'd assume we're going to look for a similar receiver this year.

Good move. The spike on the star is always on my mind when I saw TO score:starspin

Obviously the old addition by subtraction.

Cause you don't get better by cutting one of the best if not the best player on offense.

There are NO excuses for next year now.

Of course someone on this team will find one.

If TO had 1500 yards and 13 touchdowns last year, Jerry would have definitely weathered the storm and the guy would still be here.

nope...he'd be gone

because there were alot of people wanting them to cut TO. The QB, the owners son. Probably the HC too. Probably our scouts, who said he wasnt the same player and wasnt worth 9+ mils a yr anymore.

Matt Mosley said the main reason TO was cut is because Romo needed him to be gone. That the whole TO thing was draining on him.

Hostile says Tony Romo wanted him back.

You are probably right and most teams would probably do the same thing. However, that's not the case and if Jerry was willng to eat that money and put all of his eggs in the Williams basket it's hard not to believe there has to be credibility to all of the media frenzy about Owens' locker room disruption. The history with Owens certainly lends credibility there.

Well as I promised, all along, I've come here to say boy was I wrong. I'd said recently that I believed there was zero shot of him getting cut and said that I was 100 percent certain he'd be on the team at least this season.

I was wrong.

I just hope Roy can step in and replace the big plays that we're now losing.

Well, this has been an interesting 23-page thread.

One thing's for certain. This thread has proven (yet again) just how many place the value of Terrell Owens over that of the Dallas Cowboys.

I have a good feeling that this particular thread will be referenced again in the days, months and (possibly) years to come. Gotta luv the archive feature on this site.

Season over, biggest mistake we could have made right here. We'll miss the playoff's again.

Good luck to T.O. wherever he goes, still my favorite player.

23? Mine says right now we're at 45 pages? How do I change the settings so that I can get more replies on each page and not have as many pages to go through? I've apparently got double the pages you do.

60 pages now :laugh1:

This is the dumbest thing I have seen from this guy in a long time.

He waits until Housh gets signed by someone else and then releases T.O.

There is no one on this roster who will be as good as T.O. was.

Not Roy, not Austin, not Crayton.

We simple just for the heck of it downgraded at WR.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Caveat: Unless he has a deal in place with another team to get a top flight WR this will be a monumental blunder.
