Hey if it was the best move for the team then I am fine with it. I had said that many times.

DCFanatic - you had a shot with that bet... you blew it. :laugh2:

The thing is... we have a team that continuously comes up short and plays bad - TO pointed this out. Now he is gone. That ok.

TEAM - will the REAL TEAM please stand up.

I think that's a self defining statement. TO calls out the team because it plays bad on offense and is predictable (As Romo has said as well). He's now gone for what, speaking his mind? The Offense did suck last year, and he said it. So he get's released for calling it out? Are Garrett and Romo China Dolls and can't take criticism?

And the move makes no sense whatsoever. Why make the move now and not at the beginning of Free Agency when you have a chance to being in another solid reciever? Now you are left with picked overs. And Harrison and Holt are WAY too old to bring in. This team is not a player away from the superbowl.

This team is a total mess fromt he top down. You have an HC that has no control over the locker room, an Offensive Coordinator in training, no Defensive Coordinator (well, the HC is the Defensive Coordinator), and now all information about the team comes from the owner, not the HC.

You get the feeling Jerry Jones wants to be head coach, he is certainly acting like one. And since Wade is really a Defensive Coordinator with an HC titile, it appears the team functions that way. This is way way bad.

Anyone thinks we are going to come out on top after this move needs a huge reality check.

This team is no longer a team. It's all about Jerry Jones. If there was a team that desperately needs a GM, it's this one.

Yup, the team can move on with out that POS. That is what really counts.

He is gone. He is now irrelevant to me.

The ribbing is fun.... and expected. ;)

What is relevant is THIS organization wasnt winning squat before he got here and they didnt win when he was here.

So nothing has changed.............. yet.

Epic Prediction:

TO goes to New England and gets 2-3 Super Bowl rings and prances into the HOF tossing up 2 birdies and a partridge in a pear tree....:eek::eek:

TO and Moss would be scary. I think Dallas will be a very average team next year 9-7 maybe 10-6.

I'd rather be a average 9-7 or 10-6 with out Owens then with him.

9-7 is 9-7 no matter how you look at it.

I didn't like TO when he first came here, but he grew on me.
I can't say I am happy to see him go, but I sure can let go.
TO was a distraction to the team.

Cheap TO jerseys for sale :)

After looking at their schedule, my prediction is 6-10 or 7-9 at best.

That type of mentality baffles me.....

Lets hope for missed playoff opportunities because of personal vendetta's....

That's my guess. If there is any coach in the league (besides Shanahan or Holmgren) that can handle Owens it's Bellichik. And they have the locker room chemistry to handle his personality. Plus with Fred Taylor running the rock, that would be a VERY scary team. And TO would probably play there for very cheap since he got his big money from Dallas and that stupid resigning Jerry made.

Correct me if I'm wrong but 9-7 is 9-7 no matter who is on the team right? Only difference is your going to have one less person mouthing off to the media that we could be 16-0 if the got the ball more and appearing in interviews telling the world everything they don't need to know.

We gots problems Mick, no doubt. But hopefully they become more selfless
and see the bigger picture. We are still a very talented team. Coaching now becomes the biggest issue.

That's what I was thinking. I want our team better not worse. And while i can't comment on whether this move will take the team either way from the locker room, I know it made the team worse in talent. And since this team is so messed up from the top down (and that won't change just because we released one player) we really can't afford to be worse in talent.

That wasnt the problem and we will soon see this for sure.

Bigger problems than Owens.

  1. O-line can't run block
  2. Jerry involved in too many team decisions
  3. Romo cant get the ball to his WR's
  4. Coaching is soft and predictable
  5. Players take the "if we win we win fine... if we lose we lose fine" approach
You cannot tell me TO is connected to any of those. Especially #5. Dude wanted to win. We layed stink bomb after stink bomb and cut him for complaining about it.

Like the other players won't do that? RW11 and Romo both complained about the offense last year as well, so what's the point?

This locker room is still going to be screwed up. TO or no TO. TO basically got cut for calling out the offense (which he was right about anyway).

Thank you for pointing this out. Like I said, If before, if anyone think this move will make us immediately better, or that it will help in the short term, they will be in for rude awakening when the season starts next year. This team has more holes in it right now from the top down than swiss cheese, and most of the issues were not TO's fault.

I go to bed early ONE time, and wake up to see a major major move.

Obviously havent had a chance to read everything, but I knew the ******** people would be out in full-force blaming that "idiot Garrett" and crying that "the sky is falling the sky is falling!!!!"..."we're doomed!!!!!"

As I mentioned in that Jim Reeves thread, anybody that honestly believes Jason Garrett is the sole, or even the MAIN reason Terrell Owens got cut they are being really naive. Dan Reeves even said it publicly weeks ago, that there were clearly people on both sides of this (plural). And ALOT of strong sentiment to release him from others had to be there for Jerry to actually go through with this.

This is the main reason Roy Williams was brought here at the trade deadline, to be prepared for the day that Terrell Owens would no longer be here.

This team will be fine, sure we lose a good player, his 2007 season was fantastic. Last yr he clearly was not the same player and his skills are diminishing. At BEST we were gonna get one more decent yr out of him. But by subtracting him we gain more versatility in the offense, we'll never see a game again where one guy gets 20 passes thrown his way in spite of being double or triple covered. They are going to run the ball more, Wade said so the day after the season. They have Roy Williams and Jason Witten, not many teams can claim to have two guys like that. I really like Miles Austin and feel he could be quite a #2 guy. Crayton is a good 2/3 guy. I would guess we'll see a vet brought in at some point, maybe not till right before the season though because they may want to see how things work with what they have. And what we have is quite good.

I was never in favor of TO coming here, like many I hated the guy. I did find myself liking him though because of his effort and playmaking. But it became obvious this yr that he was a detriment to the "TEAM" and releasing him was the right move. I dont believe everything was his fault, but wherever he is he will always be a lightning rod for this stuff. A big weight has been lifted off alot of people's shoulders today.
