Don't be surprised to see him end up on another team's 53.

Well, I would be, but I suppose stranger things have happened.

He's an undrafted rookie who played 2 games and caught 2 passes for 16 yards.

So he beat out fellow rookie Tolbert but still got cut? Either they’re confident he’ll make the practice squad or they’re choosing draft status over talent. They obviously thought he outplayed Tolbert, so then why not cut Tolbert and keep the better player?

Because that would reflect on the GM's "Jerry Jones" drafting capability.....bet it also has to do with money....cutting Houston would cost the Jones less than cutting Tolbert who is a 3rd round pick. You can bet its about money....thats the Jones Family way....

Tolbert was hurt part of camp and didn't get as much practice time. I think they see Tolbert as having more upside, and less chance of making it to the practice squad.

If Washington and Gallup were ready week one I think Houston comes out of camp on the PS. We'll see if he gets there now.

They plan on keeping both. It is just that they need the roster space for this week. It isn't that big a deal.

I don’t remember Tolbert hurt at all during camp, when and where was this?

No because he pretty much started 2 games and then you release him - That is just nuts. Somebody else should have been playing those first 2 games if he is that expendable!
It isn't nuts. They have to play with what they need each and every week. For sure they will be adding Gallup and Peters to the active roster very soon and they may need to add a tight end.

I think he'll make it to the PS. Undrafted rookie, really didn't show anything in a game that would make someone pounce.
Which is why they chose him to open up a roster spot that they need. They want to sneak him through waivers and keep him.

That was quick. Won't be surprised to see him end up on the practice squad.

Hope he clears waivers and Dallas puts him on the PS. He does have some talent and some confidence. Hope he gets to develop here and see what happens. But with Tolbert and Gallup waiting, this was bound to happen.

Wow, it suprises me he was good enough to get substantial playing time vs Tampa, yet he's so far down roster he's released 2 weeks later.

Just likely means Gallup is back, Washington in two weeks. Also could mean they need the extra TE spot if Schultz is out this week

Why didn't they release Houston earlier instead of Ridgeway?

They way they are managing their roster this year is weird.

Really? Depth at DT is very different from depth at WR. They aren’t building and manipulating a roster each week based on who has more potential at WR vs who has more potential at DT, or QB vs C. It’s all about the best roster for this week’s game day and which player they like long term.

I still believe they were disappointed in Bohannon last season and took a flier on Ridgeway. Once Bohannon showed his improvement and dedication and Ridgeway showed very little as a rookie, it was a calculated risk to try and slip Ridgeway onto the practice squad for depth development. Look how long it took for the Cowboys to have interest in even one 1-tech nose type. No way they would keep two of them on the actual roster, especially the game day roster. They can find a Bohannon/Ridgeway every year late in the draft.

Unless he is claimed off waivers it is very likely he will be moved to PS
