I think they will keep Zeke on the roster at his current cap number, if he does not take a pay cut, then they will see what they come out of the draft with, and if they like what they have they will cut Zeke and he will be hitting free agency at a really bad time.

Time is on the Cowboys’ side this time around and Zeke knows that this could happen to him. So as time goes on the pressure for Zeke to take a deep pay cut builds, day by day. Cabo, in reverse.
It is an ugly side of the biz but Zeke saw how Gurley's fate went. Zeke seems more likely to be able to contribute as a 2 and thrive in that like Jerome Bettis did.

He just rubbed the team the wrong way. You know you had to have done something to irk this team if they literally gave you away. Because what happened to Cooper is rare for Jerry. I've never seen him treat a player like that and send him to Cleveland for chump change.
Agree. It was obviously personal.

A signature Jones contract for the Cowboys to keep players on payroll beyond their productive years and send them off with a balloon payment to be taken as a dead cap hit.
I've not given up on Gallup just yet.

I think I’ve fallen prey to some variant of Stockholm Syndrome. I actually have hope that the captors of the organization are going to make a positive move.

Most have been talking a receiver or Bobby Wagner. I’m curious if the Wonder Twins could surprise us by bringing in a stud at position we haven’t yet discussed?

How can anyone defend this team anymore... Why in the world would you restructure this guy when theres a chance hes never gonna recover from his injury. Yes he could but the chances that hes the same again is probably under 10%. I hated restructuring Prescott but I got it we had no choice because of the bad contract we gave him. The only moves I could see that will be worse is to keep elliot for anymore then 2-3 million a year. Or to give shultz a big contract. This is a sad day to be a cowboys fan we really are doomed.

Remember that all they are doing is pushing dead money to the right. We're are going back to the Dave Campo era.

I was hoping this wouldn’t happen so we could get out of his deal next year.

Woof.

Heck it might be for OBJ. I know he set his price at 20 mil per but ain’t nobody giving him that. Might have to settle for something in the 12-15 range. Seems like they’re working on something. Who the heck knows…
It’s not. It’s to sign comp picks and draft picks

They should've kept amari for atleast 1 more yr. He was willing to restructure. Atleast they admitted they screwed that up.
I’m convinced it was something internal with Coop…Cowboys never give up guys prematurely. Wouldn’t shock me if Mike didn’t like him.
