If the Cowboys lose you won't find me blaming the disadvantage. That's what an excuse is.

Also me talking about this situation will not influence the game at all. I promise you.

But to pretend this isn't a significant disadvantage... Anyone making that claim... Well you lack the ability to think critically on this issue.

Lol, keep digging that hole :lmao:

The NFL has deliberately tried to sabotage our season by forcing us to play 8 games at home.

Why those no good.....

I have it on good authority that the NFL is behind only the media and CZ realists in their hate for the cowboys

No one is pretending anything. It's a situation that has to be dealt with.

Like anyone looking to achieve a goal.

But, by continuing to harp on it, it comes across as someone making an excuse for a potentially bad outcome.

And, yes, your viewpoints on this will have no outcome on the results of the game. As it is for every fan on the planet.

The Eagles have a short week to and it's a road game for them. And they're 2-3 on the road this year.

Yea but on the flip side, the Cowboys have lost all 3 of their games at home

The Cowboys have been doing this for YEARS, so the routine has been passed down, they know what it is all about. And what to do, and how to handle it.
But do the younger players, which this team is. So this will be a test to the coaching staff and the trainers.

Yes the night game does not help much, and the Eagles had a home game against a poor team. But they travel on Wednesday. I hope there is a snow storm and they get delayed, and can't fly in until Thursday morning, sitting on the plane all night.....j/k.....

That would be the PERFECT scenario. Don't kid!!!! I would love for that to happen. Lol.

Being at home isn't the advantage. Because we play the Eagles on the road as well.

The situation around this game limits any advantage you have being at home. No such barrier for when we travel to Philly.

Quick who finished their game 8 hours earlier?

Quick who got to receive treatment and sleep in their bed and get a full nights rest Sunday?

Quick who will be fully rested Sunday night Monday night Tuesday night and Wednesday night?

Quick who will be well rested just Monday night and Tuesday night and Wednesday night?

Words have meaning.

If it makes you feel any better, Dallas will have 10 days to get ready for the game in Philly, while the Eagles will only have 7.

Google how long there is actually action for a player in an NFL game. They didn't fight a world war.

Simply not true.

Eagles finished let's say around 4 pm. Got treatment and the players went home and the coaches stayed in the facility and started prepping for us.

5 hours later we began a game. 4 hours after that we finished our game. 5 hours later we got home to Dallas at 5 am. Coaches probably took a nap and started on Philly. 4 pm we had a walk through.

If you think the difference in those situations is a couple hours on a plane Wednesday morning after a good night's rest I don't know what else to say.

12 hours after the Eagles finished playing at Philly a weary Cowboys team was climbing out of a plane on the tarmac.

It's the first time in years that we went on the road the Sunday before thanksgiving. We always had that advantage. For once we don't. Either way playing 4 days later is hard either way.

There were posters here telling me that not getting a full night's rest in your bed following a football game and leading to a Thursday afternoon game is no big deal. Or that it wouldn't even happen that way with way too optimistic arrival times back to Texas.

Truth of the matter it is. The quality of Thursday games since their inception speaks to something missing... Either a lack of preparation (practice) or a lack physical preparedness just of the body.

The Cowboys got a very raw deal here with the prime time game.

No excuses but I'll be interested to see how we come out of the gate.

Well there are 31 other teams wishing they could be playing on Thanksgiving as well. I think if we all of a sudden gave up our Thanksgiving spot to another team we will never see the Cowboys play during that day. So I would take it with a grain of salt. I think having the Cowboys play on Thanksgiving is more important than having a couple of nights sleep. These guys are professional athletes and they should be able to handle it.

NBA teams at times play 4 games in 5 nights. Thursday if players are tired and need to sit for a few minutes, use the bench guys.

IMO this has no impact on Thursday. They have Mon-Tue-Wed night to adapt. Playing at 3:30 vs the 11:30 slot helps as well.

Does the NFL restrict how fast we can leave the stadium after SNF?

What we're talking about with Philly is them having an extra night to rest (which was Sunday night). Not many times I think have teams had to do that quick a turn around. When did the team come into the facility on Monday? Anybody know? Maybe the were able to catch a few zzs on the plane but it's not like they were able to see the Philly game that night like the Eagles were able to see them play. You can't compare this to any normal year that this team plays on Thanksgiving it's not the same when you had a full night to rest and when your hoping to squeeze some time to rest in while traveling cross country on a plane. It's a crappy situation there's no way around it. This is different from any other year for this team, the Eagles got an extra night of prep in this week, but maybe the bye this team is coming off us will help? As far as them coming in as the road team, what time do they get in Thursday? Are they getting in past midnight or something so they play on a few hours? Whatever the case Monday for this team was basically burned hopefully they can get past it though they're gonna have to.

All short weeks are not created equal. This is about as "unfair" as it comes.

Again no excuses but as a an athlete in my day I'd not be happy about this.

A lot of research these days on sleep and performance in sports. Most notably for nba players and back to back games which this is the football equivalent of.

You're overreacting. Buffalo just got dealt the strangest week and came out and dominated. Yes, I'm sure all the Eagles players used those few extra hours and took a nap. LOL.

Well, two of those were basically without Romo. How many road games has philly won with Sanchez? 0

Just one was without Romo, I'm not sure about Philly because I don't follow them that closely.

You must have never played football.

Also did you read that pice on Tyron Smith and his family money issues?

Did you notice the part where he said something to the effect that two days after a game it's hard to sit down and that he is in real pain? And he's a young twenty something and about as impressive an athlete as you'll see in this league.

So yes 12 hours of rest and no plane flight immediately after a game probably isn't something to be scoffed about.

You should think about that. But that's none of my business.

If the Eagles flight to Dallas has a DFW based flight crew, hopefully they'll make their flight as uncomfy as possible. And then have to sit at the gate for a while. And then lose their luggage.
