Seems this could be quelled quickly if indeed there is video evidence and/or witnesses who saw this girl getting beat up at a bar.

Smells like a money grab but frankly, with the way offseasons go for this franchise nowadays, I expect the gut punch repeatedly.

So basically, nothing new and the police are looking into it (as if they had any other choice).

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Both the police and the NFL have to do their due diligence on this. Particularly now after the Ray Rice thing.

Both investigations are to be 100% expected.

In the pre Ray Rice era, the NFL likely wouldn't have even looked into this.

I'm not rolling my eyes at you for posting this by the way... I'm rolling them at the NY Daily News article.

In fairness, this is new news in the sense the woman is going to press the issue with the DA. A few days ago it was looking like this might just disappear quietly.

She's desperate me thinks. The DA won't touch this unless there is a guy there
trying to make a name and sees this as an opportunity. It will all come to a head soon.

She finally figured out the relationship was beyond repair so she wants a chunk of money to go away. The only way to get that is to threaten charges and then settle. Elliot better be clean and have those witnesses and texts in order. This is the result of the NFLs new harsh policies. Each and every player is now subject to this threat no matter what the truth is. Just the allegation puts the player in such a bad place that they may feel the need to pay money to make it go away even if they are 100% innocent.

don't be surprised if he is not suspended for some games there is a old saying where there is smoke there is usually a little fire whatever the outcome with the current state of affairs with the cowboys this is not good thing

She isn't going to get a settlement.

She said/he said...............with witnesses on the side of Elliot? A cat fight with the new GF?

.Pffffft. pissin' up a rope, IMO.

She's got only one avenue left and that's to try and tarnish Elliot's name.

She a vindictive little............

I hope that justice comes equally to whoever is in the wrong here.

I agree, If EE has abused her then I hope he gets what's coming to him. Even though it sucks for us, no one should be abused. I really hope he didn't do it but if he did I hope he is held accountable.

Honestly nothing surprises me with this team. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose him for the whole year while Goodell's goons do an investigation

Exactly. And, conversely, if she has fabricated this story, she should pay a heavy price for doing that. If not, she's doing damage to their entire judicial system and to the real victims of domestic violence and that should not go unpunished either.

While I understand your perspective, I don't really have any sympathy for some of these athletes who put themselves in this situation.

So you think you're going to bed a woman and skate? You date a woman known to have multiple relationships with men and yet you still proceed?

Hopefully, situations like this will make men be a little bit more cautious in their dealing with women and exercise greater care than the "hit it and quit it" mentality.

I understand your point. However, I completely expected her to press what she could. Why wouldn't she? There won't be any negative consequences for her if she goes ahead with it anyway. Dropping it when word got out that he had proof she was saying she would ruin him would only serve to show that was true. The only way for her to save face is to be to move ahead with the charade and to say the police got it wrong once they shut the case.

Any other way and she is admitting publicly that she was just trying to set him up. She won't do that. She'll always say that Elliott got away with it. It is the only way to show her face in public again.

But, just because I fully expected it doesn't mean that everyone did, so your point that it is somewhat new news is a good one.

Dude, I was hitting that kind of stuff like Casanova when I was his age. Doesn't mean that I was right for doing so, nor does it mean that it is a good idea for a millionaire athlete to do it... but it does happen and isn't anything out of the ordinary.

The guy is human, and he learned an important lesson here. I expect him to be more careful going forward.

she won't though as the line would be, punishing her would prevent other women from coming forward and we have to #believewomen
