Cooper will get paid top cheddar either here or elsewhere. The recent FA market shows that.
If the Cowboys want to retain him, expect to see them roll in quite a few brinks trucks over the next year or so for some players.

cooper knows we have to pay him if we dont want to look like fools.

which we already are after we did the trade.

so...

That was before QBs like Wilson started signing 35+mill dollar deals...

Honestly Id be ecstatic if we can get a deal done at around 26-28mill a year... The cap will keep going up and guys like Pat mahomes is fixing to break Wilsons deal and prbly get closer to 40mill a year
Blame it on gullible GMs and owners who leverage their cap space on promises instead of results.
Last year:
Matt Ryan: $30M
Kirk Cousins: $28M
Jimmy Garoppolo: $27.5M
Matthew Stafford: $27M
Derek Carr: $25M

i dont want to pay Dak 30m a year but whatever.

The more disturbing part of that OP was this

"Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the update Tuesday and noted the Cowboys have made "more progress" toward a new deal with Prescott than with wide receiver Amari Cooper, whose demands have been "shockingly high.""

Dak’s numbers with Cooper:

8W and 3L, 69% completion percentage
17 TDs (plus 6 rushing TDs), 5 INTs

The numbers are even better if you take out that Titans game, when Cooper obviously wasn’t integrated into the offense yet.

If I gave you those stats without the quarterback’s name, any of you would want that as your franchise quarterback, even the staunchest Dak hater.

Bottom line: they both need to get signed.

Not to interrupt the people in complete meltdown, but guaranteed money and the potential value of a contract that includes incentives are wildly different things.

A contract that is something like 5 years of 80 million guaranteed but 150 Million if he hits every possible incentive is a great deal for both sides.

You may now continue freaking out.

Dak isn’t signing some incentive heavy contract. You can keep dreaming while the rest of us with common sense continue freaking out.

$30 million per year for Dak seems about right. It would benefit the Cowboys to get this deal done now since the price will only go up the longer they wait.

I dont care what Amari is asking for, just give it to him. If that means we can't keep Zeke, so be it. a #1 WR is so much more important than a top RB.

The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly working toward a contract extension with quarterback Dak Prescott that would "approach $30 million annually."

Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the update Tuesday and noted the Cowboys have made "more progress" toward a new deal with Prescott than with wide receiver Amari Cooper, whose demands have been "shockingly high."

Hill also noted the Cowboys "seem to be nonplussed" about making Prescott the highest-paid player in franchise history.

Cooper has the Jones family by the footballs. He is 24 years old and they traded a first round pick for him. He wants to be the highest paid reciever in football. Cooper and Dak will break the bank.
see ya later Zeke.
