We assumed close to 30.. Next season it will be the norm for a starter. Was hoping for 25-27...
next year doesnt matter.
when you overpay in year one, you did overpay.

Yes and hope they do well, we've all seen a lot worse than Dak at QB, I'm just on the wait and see side of fence on Dak, Jerry is Jerry nothing anyone can do about him. Will you still watch and support the Cowboys?
Note the word "could" gentlemen. Could does not mean will and $26 mil is "approaching". Depends on your impressions of "could" and "approaching"
Cooper will get paid top cheddar either here or elsewhere. The recent FA market shows that.
If the Cowboys want to retain him, expect to see them roll in quite a few brinks trucks over the next year or so for some players.
Blame it on gullible GMs and owners who leverage their cap space on promises instead of results. That was before QBs like Wilson started signing 35+mill dollar deals...
Honestly Id be ecstatic if we can get a deal done at around 26-28mill a year... The cap will keep going up and guys like Pat mahomes is fixing to break Wilsons deal and prbly get closer to 40mill a year
Get over it. 26 mill ain't happening
Not to interrupt the people in complete meltdown, but guaranteed money and the potential value of a contract that includes incentives are wildly different things.
A contract that is something like 5 years of 80 million guaranteed but 150 Million if he hits every possible incentive is a great deal for both sides.
You may now continue freaking out.
These threads are ridiculous. Who cares who gets paid first or how much. The bottom line is our players will get paid. And you ALL know that.
Note the word "gentlemen". Thank you ma'am, for clarifying.
Dak’s numbers with Cooper:
8W and 3L, 69% completion percentage
17 TDs (plus 6 rushing TDs), 5 INTs
The numbers are even better if you take out that Titans game, when Cooper obviously wasn’t integrated into the offense yet.
If I gave you those stats without the quarterback’s name, any of you would want that as your franchise quarterback, even the staunchest Dak hater.
Bottom line: they both need to get signed.
Welcome to the real world Neo. Took the blue pill?I think I'm getting dizzy...
My dude......Cowboys Rumors: 'More Progress' Made for Dak Prescott Contract Than Amari Cooper

The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly working toward a contract extension with quarterback Dak Prescott that would "approach $30 million annually."
Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the update Tuesday and noted the Cowboys have made "more progress" toward a new deal with Prescott than with wide receiver Amari Cooper, whose demands have been "shockingly high."
Hill also noted the Cowboys "seem to be nonplussed" about making Prescott the highest-paid player in franchise history.

Not because of Dak, but because of his pock-marked face.
