I would love to believe that. But if that were the case, JJ’s comments during the season would have been simply “we appreciate Mike and will look at everything once the season ends.”

Instead- he has been talking about the extension. Why twist the knife if you already made the decision? Why confuse the fanbase?

IMO— JJ started the year with the purpose to let him run out his contract— but as this has played out, I think JJ truly believes this team loves Mike and played hard for him and “fights.”

In other words, I don’t think the decision to move was made earlier. Not do I think he has made it yet. JJ is a muddled thinker and drags his feet on every decision.

Delaying the decision until all the hot prospects find coaching jobs, and THEN parting with MM would be the most Cowboys thing to do.

You also don't let an experienced SB winning coach leave unless you have at least something worth replacing him.

Who in their right mind wants to come work in the Big Tent Circus?

If we let him walk, we will most likely be the last team that signs a HC, which then includes the team with the last assistants available, because we would be the last team anyone wants to coach in Jerry World.

Do we think this is legit? or is that leaked to make the fan base feel like they have researched options but knowing that they are bringing MM back?

Just interesting bc they say they havent even thoughts about the off season yet, and then this is released but why even release that? If you been saying you havent thought about it, there are no names really attached, and besides leveraging MM like his agent is trying to leverage Dallas, why even talk about this?

Jerry said week 18 wouldnt change anything in reference to his decision, so if its hay in the barn, why are you doing research? Or are you silently encouraging MM to interview else where?

Feel like its alot of chicken being played.

And I dont trust anything coming out of Glazer's mouth bc he was the person who connect MM to the Cowboys when he interviewed. He was the man advocate in getting him here

Those guys are coaching royalty in college, they arent leaving their schools to come to Dallas. But I agree with you

Maybe, maybe not. College coaching must kind of suck now. Lifestyle in the NFL is way better with NIL and transfer portal craziness.
