Cowboys Rumors: Team Doing 'Homework' on HC Candidates amid Mike McCarthy Buzz

Ron just interviewed with Jets, lol but if I hear a Lewis, Fisher report lol Id die. Bad enough to hear Ryan, Rivera, Carroll and Gruden names already
Are those worse than Garrett? Don't be surprised by a return of the clapping carrot.

Garrett wasnt horrible to me. He didnt achieve the ultimate goal and he had a long tenure but he also had some bad teams early too. He had his flaws but he also had some success as well. I would honestly take him over all of them.

I wonder if Stevie has ever actually done homework in his life. He seems like the kind of guy that had the smart guy take the tests for him while he played with the other kids in his class that may or may not have been his half-siblings.

Take back a failure? Really?

Listen Garrett, gave us an identity. Garrett was 85-67. He had one losing season. He also had some bad team personnel wise early in his career, when they had cap issues and had no direction until McClay was there in 2013. He played too conservative some times, and he had moments where he was too stubborn but we built the great wall under his watch, we ran the ball, we did some things well. He also influence Jerry to draft OL in the first which he never did. So, is he the best coach no, is he the worst coach absolutely not.

Jerry was asked about Gruden in an interview and he said he had nothing to say about Gruden, but went on to say he's a friend. What Jerry said wasn't interesting, but the way he spoke seemed nervous and he was stumbling over words more than usual.

In unrelated news, Jerry was recently seen being fitted for sans-a-belt coaching shorts and a whistle lanyard.

No Jerry needs to make a splash this year, no more rescuing old coaches, need some spark...I knew when MM came here it was wasted years...

Weren't they looking at Kingsbury during our first game against Washington lol

The decision to move on was made for McCarthy after the GB playoff debacle. Jerry just allowed him to run out of contract. You don't have a lame duck hc and staff just to run it all back . Especially after we crapped the bed.

consistently saying that McCarthy will be back and don’t think they will even drag it out…3 year deal on paper that gives the team an out after a year if they need to after year 1
All NFL Head Coaches contracts are fully guaranteed for the duration of the contract. No head coach would sign the deal you’re suggesting. Jerry Jones does not have the imagination or courage to buck that trend. Offering a deal like that would be an insult to McCarthy. Such nonsense.

That was the rumor yes

I think he ends up in Chicago with Williams.

But he’s a Texas guy, played high school and college ball in Texas. I would love for him to come back. Offense would be fun to watch

He was at best mediocre
and NO he did not give us an identity
he merely continued to destroy the Cowboys legacy
