Do we think this is legit? or is that leaked to make the fan base feel like they have researched options but knowing that they are bringing MM back?

Just interesting bc they say they havent even thoughts about the off season yet, and then this is released but why even release that? If you been saying you havent thought about it, there are no names really attached, and besides leveraging MM like his agent is trying to leverage Dallas, why even talk about this?

Jerry said week 18 wouldnt change anything in reference to his decision, so if its hay in the barn, why are you doing research? Or are you silently encouraging MM to interview else where?

Feel like its alot of chicken being played.

And I dont trust anything coming out of Glazer's mouth bc he was the person who connect MM to the Cowboys when he interviewed. He was the man advocate in getting him here
The last part doesn't make sense, you don't believe hom because he is more true then you want him to be.....!?

Jerry will re-sign MM, or hire some uninspired HC who has been out of coaching for a bit. Jerry needs someone who won’t upstage him, or intimidate him with his football acumen because we all know Jerry don’t know crap.
So be prepared for some schmuck who will defer to Jerry because he is thankful to be hired to coach “America’s Team”.

Yes. It seemed very likely once the team wasn't going to be good this year, Jerry simply forced Mike to coach out the string and earn his check.
Would shock me zero if Jerry not only has made this decision but also has a silent agreement with his next head coach.
I don't expect this to drag out and it shouldn't as Dallas has 20+ free agents, a key draft to prepare for and a roster to make over.
It's maddening they won 2-3 too many games but that's' the cost of keeping the staff around with a bunch of players that need good tape to enter free agency.
They couldn't just quit.

I guess they want it out there that they are “doing homework” after Stephens mouth revealed that they “hadn’t thought about it.”

I hope Mike holds them up for a ransom to hang around this mess.

If they would just SHUT UP it wouldn’t be so bad. Not an option apparently.
Funny thing is i don't think it's bout money and salary.

I tend to think if it could be more about " conditions" , ala the Jones choosing McCarthy's coaches for him .

- They've already did so with keeping Kellen Moore as OC with McCarthy,.. and choosing McCarthy's last two DC's after Big Macs' DC disaster of Mike Nolan hiring.

I agree with the later....

Being good enough to win in the regular season seems to be good enough for the fanbase. McCarthy’s Cowboys remain a ratings juggernaut, win or lose. The value of the Cowboys franchise remains the highest in the world, win or lose. Merchandise sales, media coverage and attendance also seem to be impervious to team failures. Jones doesn’t have to force the replacement if he doesn’t see a clear and obvious upgrade.

There’s an excellent chance the Cowboys decided McCarthy’s fate last winter and his exodus is simply a forgone conclusion. Jones doesn’t like to spend money if he doesn’t have to (see also the Cowboys annual free agent spending) and firing McCarthy with one year left on his contract would essentially require Dallas to pay two head coaches in 2024. Under this very realistic premise the Cowboys are just allowing McCarthy to save face and stay marketable even if they’ve already decided a new direction for the franchise.

Based on the wealth of data McCarthy has given them over the years, the odds are Jones knows exactly what McCarthy’s fate is. But there remains a possibility Jones really is undecided and simply waiting until the full candidate pool has shown itself.

McCarthy’s contract expires on January 14, so Jones has time to see who hits the coaching market and who does not. If a clear and obvious upgrade isn’t available for the Cowboys, Jones may simply decide McCarthy is good enough.
This member of the fanbase is ABSOLUTELY NOT satisfied with the occasional regular season success. What the hell are they playing for if that is as high as the bar is going to be raised?

But I really think that all this speculation is a huge waste of time. I'm confident MM is coming back because Jerry doesn't seem to be fazed by playoff butt whippings. He's also easily impressed by regular season wins against very poor competition.

I agree but there are alot of people who are like 12-5, 12-5, 12-5 but dont talk about the struggles in playoffs; lack of preparation, being outcoached and lack of playoff success. I am totally with you
