It's like watching a bad reality show.Because “drama” is literally the only thing this franchise has had to offer as an entertainment outlet for going on 30 years.

Who on this coaching staff would even be worthy of being promoted? Al Harris stock has plummeted since last year. He's the only guy im interested in keeping.Hope he doesn't take the lazy route and hire from within
Yeah right with you know who back thereThat was the rumor yes
I think he ends up in Chicago with Williams.
But he’s a Texas guy, played high school and college ball in Texas. I would love for him to come back. Offense would be fun to watch
You'd be surprised lolWho on this coaching staff would even be worthy of being promoted? Al Harris stock has plummeted since last year. He's the only guy im interested in keeping.
Kilff Kingsbury in Dallas would be a train wreck.Yeah right with you know who back there

No kidding, It doesn’t even require imagination because it happens every off season. they simply would pay the remaining 2 years on his deal - which literally happens ever year in the nfl. The team is responsible for the contract until the fired coach finds a new job to offset the remaining payments due.All NFL Head Coaches contracts are fully guaranteed for the duration of the contract. No head coach would sign the deal you’re suggesting. Jerry Jones does not have the imagination or courage to buck that trend. Offering a deal like that would be an insult to McCarthy. Such nonsense.
There is no mention, whatsoever, about NFL coaches compensation in the collective bargaining agreement between NFL owners and the NFLPA. And the only point is Jerry Jones does not pay head coaches not to coach. Void years is not a term associated with any NFL head coaches’ contracts. You make up ridiculous scenarios. No kidding, It doesn’t even require imagination because it happens every off season. they simply would pay the remaining 2 years on his deal - which literally happens ever year in the nfl. The team is responsible for the contract until the fired coach finds a new job to offset the remaining payments due.
So it’s on paper a 3 year deal- with the cowboys being able to void the remaining 2 of the contract, void meaning the remaining years of service. In essence every coaching contract has void years because a coach can be fired anytime, the team then has to pay the salary on the deal.
luckily, the cba stipulates that coaching contracts don’t count towards the salary cap. Now, Jerry is cheap as hell but that wasn’t your point. What’s nonsense is how often you quote me lol
Again, which part is ridiculous? NFL coaches get fired every year and the team is then responsible for paying that contract until said coach finds a new job to offset the remaining contract. You can parse words all you want but the point is the cowboys will not bring McCarthy back on a 1 year deal- he will get a multi year deal if he comes back and if he fails the cowboys will move on and be forced to pay the remaining years on the deal.
Team doing home work? What team is that exactly, sense no one is signed after this week?https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10149529
Do we think this is legit? or is that leaked to make the fan base feel like they have researched options but knowing that they are bringing MM back?
Just interesting bc they say they havent even thoughts about the off season yet, and then this is released but why even release that? If you been saying you havent thought about it, there are no names really attached, and besides leveraging MM like his agent is trying to leverage Dallas, why even talk about this?
Jerry said week 18 wouldnt change anything in reference to his decision, so if its hay in the barn, why are you doing research? Or are you silently encouraging MM to interview else where?
Feel like its alot of chicken being played.
And I dont trust anything coming out of Glazer's mouth bc he was the person who connect MM to the Cowboys when he interviewed. He was the man advocate in getting him here
I would love to believe that. But if that were the case, JJ’s comments during the season would have been simply “we appreciate Mike and will look at everything once the season ends.”The decision to move on was made for McCarthy after the GB playoff debacle. Jerry just allowed him to run out of contract. You don't have a lame duck hc and staff just to run it all back . Especially after we crapped the bed.
Id be shocked if MM was here in 2025 after todays game. Jerry is senile and his son is just a liar. Any kudos they been giving to MM this season is meaningless when you see the fact that MM and every single staffer and coach are on expiring deals. Tells me all I need to know. I feel they have all known, all parties involved, what the larger plan was all along and that is letting everyone play out the deals they have then move on. Everything said publicly by MM and Jerry/son is just to string everyone along to spark interest. Dangling a carrot for the media and fans. Soon as this game ends today you will begin to see leaks out of Frisco that MM might not be back. You just do not bring back a HC after this dumpster fire we have seen, especially when MM doesn't wanna be here, despite what he says. Lets not forget, the sole decision to play on the current deal was not just Jerry but was also MM. No one talks about that. MAYBE Mike didn't want an extension. Maybe, he wants to test the market or just retire.I would love to believe that. But if that were the case, JJ’s comments during the season would have been simply “we appreciate Mike and will look at everything once the season ends.”
Instead- he has been talking about the extension. Why twist the knife if you already made the decision? Why confuse the fanbase?
IMO— JJ started the year with the purpose to let him run out his contract— but as this has played out, I think JJ truly believes this team loves Mike and played hard for him and “fights.”
In other words, I don’t think the decision to move was made earlier. Not do I think he has made it yet. JJ is a muddled thinker and drags his feet on every decision.
Delaying the decision until all the hot prospects find coaching jobs, and THEN parting with MM would be the most Cowboys thing to do.
We have the laziest front office duo in sports. It’s the fruit of 35 years with zero accountability at the very top of the organization. Meanwhile 31 other teams have GMs whose livelihood and future with their organization is completely dependent on the team’s on-field performance. Imagine that.I guess they want it out there that they are “doing homework” after Stephens mouth revealed that they “hadn’t thought about it.”
I hope Mike holds them up for a ransom to hang around this mess.
If they would just SHUT UP it wouldn’t be so bad. Not an option apparently.
