David Irving was undrafted. Signed as an UDRFA by Kansas City. And then Marinelli saw something, wanted that kid, brought him here and last season we started to see why.

If Marinelli talked Stephen Jones into spending a draft pick on this kid, I'm totally fine with it.

Saw something means 6'7 with rare physical attributes.

A player with high physical traits that good coaching could develop into something.
The odds of you getting a player with "high physical traits" in the 7th round are slim and none.

Strengths

Worker bee and high effort player.

Displays a good series of pass rush moves including a nice bull rush and club move, doesn’t stop if the first action fails.

Shows good power and strength off the snap and is able to get inside leverage and get into the backfield.

Playing the run he shows good vision and ability to disengage from his blocker and make a tackle.

While I'm not stoked or anything, I don't get the angst. I'd say it's likely he gives more to the team than either of the other 7th rounders, and I haven't seen much complaining there.

They have said in the past that the late guys are usually players still on their board that they think will be tough to sign as a udfa. I remember a lot of gripes about taking Rico and that just may turn out.

Ivie is suppose to have extreme quickness so he may be a fit at 3 tech.

Of all the picks after Woods, I like this one the most based on the minimal highlights of these guys. Although the DT from Colorado doesn't have any highlights. Ivie looks like he has some quickness. Who knows.

Man, that Florida defense was loaded on defense. A lot of pros on that defense.

He looks like a pretty good player from the few clips posted in the thread. Definitely has good hand placement and plays with a low center of gravity... some nice movement skills too. The scouting report says high motor... I have no problem with the pick at this point in the draft. Looks like he can do what we ask of our 1Ts, and enough quickness to maybe get a shot at some 3T snaps.

I like that he's a Florida Gator, they routinely produce NFL talent on defense.
