Gotta admit I jumped out of the recliner when they traded up, anybody who knew the draft this yr knew Woods would end up in Dallas.

Pretty cool to see our SS go from Church and Wilcox(aka limited in coverage) to possibly Heath and Woods who have better coverage/ball skills

" I would bet on this guy's ability to make plays.. Big plays. 14 interceptions over his career. This dude's got sticky hands. Seen him make so many catches over his head, laying out, plucking the ball, undercutting receivers, does a really good job. He's a high Safety who came into the East-West shrine game and really performed well that week. Can also be dangerous in the return game. And I mentioned big plays, 5 forced fumbles in his career. I don't think he was consistent in terms of his tackling ability, but a lot of big plays from this kid." - Todd McShay

"Plays the game with passion. 14 career interceptions speaks volumes about his ball skills. The passion, the love of the game, he's active, he's alert. And you can't teach ball skills that he is." - Mel Kiper

I think the Woods hype has gotten a little out of control. Ever since we found out he was one of the 30 visits, his legend has grown rapidly to the point where people were shocked he "fell" this far when in reality, this is probably right about where he should have been picked.

Ourlads has him as a 3rd rounder.

He fell this deep into the draft because this was a strong draft for DBs and Safeties. Otherwise he would have gone a lot higher.

Which tells you that in a draft full of good DB's, he's only a 6th round talent.

That doesn't mean he "fell" that means he got picked where he should have based on his talent.

He just said on the draft show he was getting calls to be a UDFA from other teams before we drafted him.

can you imagine Jordan lewis in another CB starved draft? he could have sniffed RD 1 without his off the field issue.

All the "draftable" guys get these calls in the 6th-7th round. It's called recruiting.

It wasn't even just underwear Olympics. They took some guys that didn't even have athletic upside as well. It was all over the place with no actual draft strategy or approach.

That too. I was think of players like Owusu-Ansah and Matt Johnsons of the world.
