You can’t keep making excuses there was nowhere to run. You didn’t see fans using that excuse about Zeke. He got bashed repeatedly because he couldn’t pop a long run.
The situation between Vaughn and Zeke are light years difference and you know it.

If Vaughn pops one big run for a score, he’s probably playing ahead of Dowdle. Look at how Pollard got his opportunity. Every few carries…boom! This is why fans fell in love with him, and wanted to move on from Zeke.
Moving on from Zeke has nothing to do with Vaughn or Pollard. There were plenty of well documented reasons he needed to go.

It’s definitely different, but the more opportunities that Vaughn gets that don’t lead to a big play, the more fans are going to become dissatisfied with him. it’s the big plays he made in college that got fans excited about him.

We know why the team wanted to move on from Zeke but a lot of fans wanted to move on because he wasn’t making big plays. Fans wanted Pollard carrying most of the load.

We like our scrubs.
Fortunately, Pollard's no "scrub." And he has plenty of backup. This team doesn't require a back who's a threat to lead the league in rushing; RB "by committee" may just work in this scheme.

so is Mike a good play caller or what? All over this board we hear how great his game calls are, then here you are saying he sucks and doesnt know what he is doing with Pollard.
He's ok. He's taking an offense that was one of the best in the league and made some changes. Issues with the run game still persist maybe that gets corrected or is personnel related more than scheme I don't know. But I'll wait to call Mike s genius until the offense dominated a good defense specifically in the playoffs. But if he can scheme up a way for them to drop 30+ on SF in a win I'll give him props.

Arent the Jets universally accepted as a top 4 defense in the NFL? Dallas had 28 first downs, 382 yards, 30 points and 42 minutes TOP. Isnt that dominating a good defense? or just not a good enough defense? Lets not keep moving the goal posts.

Dumbest thing on here is "We need Leonard" jesus .. are we scoring too much for some of you and need to add a slow back that can do nothing? Its week 2 and we have a 60+ point dif in 2 games won... relax, have a drink, contemplate what RG3's career should've been.. AND never again mention how we need Leonard...

I'm not asking you to view anything a certain way. You wanna say Mike is your hero go for it. But the fact is this has not been some offensive juggernaut. This defense forces a lot of punts, add in what 3-4 takeaways per game and that gives this offense plenty of chances. I'm not complaining only stating that some who seem to drink mikes cool aid are a bit premature. It's been a top 10 offense since before mike, and that hasn't changed even now. They have gotten a little better in some areas and worse in others. Y

Hilarious to listen to all these Zeke cry babies get all critical of anyone other than the horrid Zeke. LOL

As if Zeke raised a high bar the last few years he was here.
Its also hilarious to see zeke haters just cant move on.
And dont pretend youve hated zeke just last couple years. Been from the get go.

You may be right now....but you were wrong early on. You just had to stick to it until time did its thing.

No he is washed
Akers is 24 and finished last season with 3 straight 100+ yards games, averaging over 5 yards per carry.

He's not washed. He's in McVay's doghouse - they wanted to get rid of him last year, too. He only played because of injuries.

I would want to know what he did to get there. If he's a locker room problem then we don't need that, but it's not a talent issue.

I thought Dowdle has looked really goid
Vaughn is a gadget guy but he is also a playmaker
I agree that Dowdle has looked good and Vaughn should only get better with experience.

Im honestly surprised that the RB corp yards per carry is as low as it is because they seemed better than what the numbers say, but of course the numbers don’t lie.

i Still believe that picking up Dalvin Cook in an “ all in” year would have been a bold move……if we could have managed it in the salary cap. I hope I’m dead wrong about it though.

I would trade for a TE Pitts. The Falcons looks like they just aren't going to use him. Or is he trash?
What would you trade away that you are willing to part with and the Falcons would be willing to accept? That's the key part of the equation.

Another question I would ask is do you think maybe they offensive strategy adjusted the last couple of weeks to account because of the dominance of the defense? Without question Ferguson had a bad Game 1, but we know Pollard is more than a 3.6 yards per carry guy, and Ferguson showed more last year than we have seen so far this year, so isn't it possible the offense has tapped the brakes some on these game that the defense is controlling?

Some of the low YPC is directly linked to having big leads and just running to run out the clock. Running 3 straight times when they know you are running is tough running

RB is the least of our concerns. If we need to add depth it’s on the oline
I wouldn’t cut Dowdle for anyone you could trade for

Totally agree,,, and a lot of defenses will simply give you that short yardage stuff banking on the percentages that you'll screw up eventually and punt or kick a field goal. Give the offense credit for executing at a high level and nailing their field goals. Give the defense credit for giving them twice as many possessions and removing the pressure of being behind. I fully expect the offense to get better as the season rolls along and I like the idea that they've got a new plan in place for dealing with tough defenses and taking pressure off of Dak.
