Akers is 24 and finished last season with 3 straight 100+ yards games, averaging over 5 yards per carry.

He's not washed. He's in McVay's doghouse - they wanted to get rid of him last year, too. He only played because of injuries.

I would want to know what he did to get there. If he's a locker room problem then we don't need that, but it's not a talent issue.

Yea, it's odd from an outsiders view.

Rico has been pretty good…but 2 games in they should blow up the running back room...that makes sense. How be we trust MM might know what he’s doing. This is the best team we’ve had since the 90’s as far as I’m concerned…

and in a salary cap era every team has a weekness…

Deuce has had 9 carries all season, most of which were in garbage-time in the rain.

Get a grip.

Totally agree,,, and a lot of defenses will simply give you that short yardage stuff banking on the percentages that you'll screw up eventually and punt or kick a field goal. Give the offense credit for executing at a high level and nailing their field goals. Give the defense credit for giving them twice as many possessions and removing the pressure of being behind. I fully expect the offense to get better as the season rolls along and I like the idea that they've got a new plan in place for dealing with tough defenses and taking pressure off of Dak.
Averaging 4 extra possessions, not just extra but taking away the opponents possession cutting them short. It's monumental
