Cowboys should be looking to make a deal for a RB

I think we cut Jones so we could have roster flex if we have a need later. BUT maybe we already have a guy we want in the works. I am thinking its a guard. If La'ell Collins would be willing to be a guard, I might try it. We do need better depth at guard and hes done that before. I bet its him or Risner we sign.
Collins has a bad leg. He’s done.

I guess some conveniently forget that even when Zeke was in his prime he even got walled up against certain defenses. Our offensive line has done a marvelous job pass blocking but perhaps still working on run blocking. Also racehorses are not plough horses.
Tony’s foot was pointing backwards.

Thus the lack of speed.

Now we know why they didn’t extend his deal.

The OL is doing a great job.

Jets have one of the best Dlines so these numbers won't be good. Pollard avg 5.0 yards per carry against the Giants and Dowdle 4.0. If you look at these RBs catching the ball they did well against the Jets.
If you take away the 23 yd run, it’s 24 rushes for 49 yds.

I would trade for a TE Pitts. The Falcons looks like they just aren't going to use him. Or is he trash?
well damn, if you are trading for Pitts, I say we just go ahead and make the moves and trade for Justin Jefferson and Patrick Mahomes while we are at it.

He hasn’t made the most of his opportunities. He only averaged 1.3 yards on six carries in the opener. Yesterday he had an opportunity to convert a third down but he bobbled a pass because he took his eyes off the ball and came up short. After the first two games he hasn’t been impressive.
Are you kidding me? He was in during Garbage time when the Cowboys were running the clock out. The giants could have 11 men at the line of scrimmage and we werent gonna pass. Whos gonna avg 5 yards per carry in hat situation?

The situation against the Giants was that we had a huge lead and they had pretty much given up. He was given 6 carries and only gained 8 yards. He’s had 9 carries so far this season averaging only 2.6 a carry. He could have turned that bobbled pass into a first down, but went nowhere. That hurt our momentum. I think he could be a good player for us but I just don’t think he’s as great as some fans want to believe. For him to be effective, he needs to be out in space. Utilizing him in the passing game would give him an opportunity to make some big plays.
Yep, I have clearly seen enough of this bum. 2 games and about 9 touches is all I need to see. Off with his head.

I'm ok with Vaughn. But what I don't like is running Pollard up the middle vs stout DT's non stop. That's not exactly what his MO is. Jets D did seem to wear down later in the game and Pollard took advantage. Early they need a little more misdirection, screens or maybe off tackle runs to get these behemoths tiring out.
so is Mike a good play caller or what? All over this board we hear how great his game calls are, then here you are saying he sucks and doesnt know what he is doing with Pollard.

You would think during garbage time with the Giants giving up he could’ve broke off a couple of runs. You see a lot of backs make good runs during garbage time when they’re just running out the clock. Any time Vaughn gets on the field he needs to make plays to get more opportunities. You can’t keep making excuses there was nowhere to run. You didn’t see fans using that excuse about Zeke. He got bashed repeatedly because he couldn’t pop a long run.

When you’re a rookie 6th round pick and you’re being given an opportunity you need to take advantage. Dowdle isn’t anything special. If Vaughn pops one big run for a score, he’s probably playing ahead of Dowdle. Look at how Pollard got his opportunity. Every few carries…boom! This is why fans fell in love with him, and wanted to move on from Zeke.

Yep, you need to break through the 5 tacklers in the backfield and take it to the house.

He’s had 9 carries for 24 yards averaging 2.7 a carry. He’s had 12 offensive touches in two games. That’s what you were expecting? That’s not what many on this board were predicting for him to start the season, but it’s on par with my predictions. You are one of those hyping him.
Obviously that’s not what anyone was expecting and if they say otherwise they’re not being honest. But I do think you’re being a bit harsh in the criticism. We did see some flash so I’m hopeful once he gets comfortable we will see some bigger plays. I want to see him succeed because not many guys his size have, but I know there is a chance he won’t.

I have not been impressed with Dowdle AT ALL, but ironically, he ran better this game than he has in the past. Sounds like the talking heads are starting to catch up with behind the scenes evaluation.

Vaughn will be a keeper “on the cheap”. Dowdle is probably the odd man out in a trade.
I actually thought he’s done pretty well. He’s not a flashy guy but he plays hard and brings a bit of that hard nose running. I mean he seems to be serviceable.

Sounds like the agenda of a Pollard doubter/ Zeke lover. It's over guys, Pollard is the lead RB now, go cry in a corner then get yourselves together and come back a real Cowboys fan. It's been 2 games haha. The running has been fine. Name some of these RBs the Cowboys can get that's better than TP.

On 105.3 the FAN right now .

They aren’t overly impressed with Dowdle & Vaughn.

Vaughn was used to early in the game according to Broaddus.
Honestly, Pollard hasn't been that great either. I know people was in love with him as a number 1 but not me. Time will tell though

A number of fans were expecting big things from him right from the start. I argued with several fans that insisted it would be him and Pollard carrying the load. One fan predicted that Vaughn would overtake Pollard as our starter. Lol One said that Vaughn would lead the team in touches. There were threads with fans going completely overboard, comparing him to Barry Sanders. They certainly didn’t expect what he’s done so far after two games. I’ve had some criticisms of him, but I want him to succeed just like everyone. He’s definitely got some juice.
