Cowboys should have torched the Niners also

While true, eagles had 5 scoring drives and only 1 was a FG. Even with the penalty problems, missing QB, everything, Philly was still burning SF’s D in the redzone.

Biggest difference between what we did and what Dallas did: we told Hurts to be safe, don’t get hurt, and most importantly protect the football. 5 yard slants to Dallas Goedert all day and we win.

If Purdy played all game, is he scoring 30? He had 1 drive and got strip sacked. He did almost nothing against Dallas. Obviously it would have been closer, but nothing today that I saw said SF was the superior team.
Hurts always plays it safe. Kidding me?

260 yards and the other team couldn't pass for half the game and had a horrible 4th stringer in for the other half.

Just stop...enjoy your golden ticket to the SB. Hope you face a hobbled Mahomes or something.

I have a story for you, it’s about the 2007 Patriots. When you think of that team, what do you think of? Undefeated season? 16-0? Maybe Eli Manning, 18-1, and a helmet catch.

You know what no one ever thinks of? The AFCCG when they struggled to beat the San Diego Chargers. Why is that relevant? Because potential hall of Famer Phillip Rivers blew out his ACL in the divisional round. He still played the AFCCG anyway, was absolutely terrible, turned the ball over multiple times and NE still only won 21-12. It’s very possible it would have been a SD-NY SB if he was healthy. 2 mediocre games in a row by the NE team.

But 15 years later no one will ever care about what happened in a CCG. No one will remember Josh Johnson, all that’ll live in the zeitgeist is what happens on Super Sunday. And the Eagles have earned the right to write that story… however unsatisfied you may be today.

Wrong.

Eagles have the best Oline in the NFL, very good talent at RBs and WRs, plus a pretty good dual-threat QB, along with better coaching and playcalling/designs. HUGE difference from the Cowboys.

Home field also was a substantial benefit. Crowd being insatiable probably accounted for a lot of SF’s penalties
I'm glad the Eagles won, especially in dominating fashion. Those 49ers are a dirty team, and are a bunch of sorelosers. The Eagles represent the NFC East, and they played with class.

Congrats.

There is no conceivable reason why the Cowboys shouldn't have torched the Niners defense the same way the Eagles did. None at all. I don't want to hear any excuses for the Cowboys offense. None.
You cannot compare the two games. That’s ridiculous. SF, the best D allowed 1 TD drive in the first half, just like with Dallas. They lost their starting 3rd string QB early. The 4th string QB off The street fumbled a snap to give SF another TD. Then they lost him. SF‘s D was on the field all game because the offense had no QB, and then they had to gamble a lot because they were the only chance of winning.

i agree, he isnt made for post season .
He made an interesting comment this week during press reports about how football isn't his life, etc. I wish I could find it, although I understand he meant that he has other ambitions outside of football. Interesting comment though in combination with a do or die game, whereas he pulled himself out.

Yes there is. It’s called trash Prescott
It’s called a cowboys offensive line that allowed our rbs 54 yards rushing and Dak no clean pocket most of the game. Football is won and lost in the trenches. Ask TCU when they finally played a good team..

Eagles d line line knocked both qbs out the game, put up 31 on the number 1 defense in the league, wasn’t pretty but it was effective. You make your own luck.

The way the Eagles season is going ...they will face an opponent with a key player hurt.

Only point I made with that.

3 reasons why we didn't torch them:

1) Dak Prescott.
2) Kellen Moore
3) Jerry Jones (for giving Prescott that contract and for insisting that Moore is a genius and keeping him.)

bunch of penalties to keep drives going, a TO in scoring territory because the 4th strong QB looked like Dak Prescott and Purdy was out…. Hardly a strong win by the Eagles..

The whole NFC is over-rated, including Hurts..
The Eagles O dominated the #1 D in the league. You have to give them that. Unfortunately

Hurts is another Dak with better legs and a rookie cap hit.
Pray, they give him a Dak-type deal.
They will be buried like us for years....

Dominated?

7 first downs by penalty. Thre for 6 first downs. Averaged like 4 ypp and 3.5 yards per carry.

Yes...they scored in the red zone but how they got there was questionable.

Disclaimer: I’m salty

That said, this is BS.

If the 9ers had a somewhat competent QB and not their 4th stringer, the Eagles don’t score 31.
Not sure how the QB stops them from scoring and they went into "burn the clock" mode in a he 3rd quarter.

That was uncharacteristic of the Niners but they could have put up 40 easily. Got to give them their props. I do get losing 2 QBs is some bad luck though. Once they were up at half they got really conservative offensively knowing the Niners couldn't come back offensively. They had some big first down runs right when they needed it.

They are always conservative. They took a few shots downfield but hurts missed them all.

Most of their passes are 5 yards and shorter.

Jalen Hurts hasn't thrown td's in 3 of the last 4 games.
