Harris? Nah

Trufant? Nope

Canady? Hell yeah! Fist bumps all around
he is cheap, team friendly, so yeah lots of Fist bumps all around by jones boys.
The jones boys were working on this lol while other top players are being signed by other teams.

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
I see the name brand crowd is out with pitch forks and torches again because they have no clue who this guy is.

It may turn out to be cow droppings. But no one will know until September.

Why d’yall resent literally every bottom-roster guy this team ever signs? You get there’s a top, middle, and bottom of the roster, right?

...and some women are just barely pretty, but not ugly :) Thus the statement: I never saw an ugly woman, just some barely pretty.

Here's a clue for you. If most don't know who he is, then he must not be that good. People tend to know the names of good players..

And sometimes a reserve player ends up developing despite not getting a shot as a starter. The guy at least graded out well last year so he might have something. But most likely depth and protect themselves somewhat if they don't get a top rookie.

His development has been hindered by three IR visits

Ravens also had great CB depth

His advanced stats from 2019 are interesting.

Allowed a passer rating of only 75 when opposing QBs targeted him in 2019, on 49 targets. Of course, that's a little fluky because he didn't give up any scores at all. Tack on a TD or two, like almost all corners will surrender (when they aren't have an anomaly of a season where they are lucky to avoid getting beaten in the endzone), and that passer rating allowed stat comes down to earth a bit.

The split between his time with the Jets and with the Ravens last year is stark, with him allowing an 87 passer rating in his games as a Jet last year while he allowed a passing rating of 66 in his games as a Raven last year. It pays to be on a better defense, that's for sure. And most of his targets came during his time with the Ravens even though he played more games with the Jets, so clearly passing games made more of a point to attack him as the weak link they should test when he arrived in the Ravens' defense. Whereas when he was with the Jets, offenses probably felt good attacking many more links in the chain.

For comparison, Byron Jones allowed a passer rating of 87 last year and 84 the year before. Jourdan Lewis allowed a passer rating of 86 last year and 85 the year before. Awuzie allowed a passer rating of 89 last year and 96 the year before.

I'm intrigued at least.

Not counting on anything. Not assuming he'll be anything. But interesting enough to be worth a look this summer.

Ya those type of things do sometimes happen but when was the last time we saw a player that went to the IR every year for his first 3 seasons and in his 4th season he was waived and then signed to the team's practice squad. I don't know what yardstick you're using to grade last season with. Is it because he got his fist and only pick in his career?

There is nothing in his career that says he's anything but a camp body that will get cut before the season starts.

PFF rated him really high for what he played - 73.4, looks like the Cowboys did as well.

Per PFF, Maurice Canady was targeted 41 times, allowing 26 catches for 244 yards and a 69.6 passer rating in 2019. He finished with 1 INT and 4 PBUs as well.
