I remember that he was talked about as a mid round pick with upside until he ran a 4.64 forty at his Pro Day and then drooped off the map.

My notes from back then:

He has good size 6-1, 200 with really long arms.

He looked good in press coverage in the area within 10 yards of the line and has some ball skills but might not have the quickness to play against slot WRs and speed is an issue on the outside.

Comes across as dumb and/or immature in interviews.

Needs the right scheme to succeed. Might be OK in the Kris Richard Legion of Boom style press man/zone hybrid that allows big physical CBs with limited speed/quickness to have some success that wouldn't do well in some other schemes.


Note: That was my notes before Kris Richard changed up his coverage scheme in 2019 which turned into a disaster.

I dont see the issue in taking a flyer on a guy like this.

This is very the same as bringing in an UDFA after the draft.

Was a top recruit and played against the best of the best in college.

Maybe he makes the kick coverage not so pathetic as the 4th/5th corner if nothing else.
