If he does, that will mean he has returned to form and that would be very good news. If he doesn't return to form, then he won't win the job and Dallas won't pay him much at all. 200K bonus? That is cheap.

Good chance if he is what the last three years say he is that he won't be on the roster.

I do.

We are being incredibly cheap and crossing our fingers that one of these shots in the dark pays off.

I guess that is the new "doing whatever we want" in free agency.

who is out there is an every down back. CJ nope, Ridley nope both of those guys are "change of pace" backs they have the ability to run or catch you can line them up anywhere but you are not going to give them 10-15 carries between the tackles you are trying to get them out in space. Now McFadden was an every down RB not saying he will stick but signing him does not necessarily take other RB off the list.

Better 'risks' than a proven failure.

7 years in the league, we know what this guy is - and what he isn't.

LOL. How is McFadden a proven failure? He's run for over 1000 yards in this league and had a couple of seasons of 5+ ypc.

Of course it doesn't. I would have preferred Ridley.

You can't say that about an Oakland Raider.

He's going to be a part-time RB backing up a drafted player most likely. Unless Ryan Williams emerges, which IS possible. He was impressive in preseason last year, and he has pedigree.

Sure I can. It's a matter of public record. Anybody can look up to see how poorly this former high first round draft has performed.

Stephen is running the show now with finances. No more mistakes on contracts.
Better to get someone of lesser perceived value than get stuck with a massive contract
and lots of dead money for a failure. Go Cowboys!

I did a quick review of him on the All-22 from 2014.

He was above average in Pass Protection.

Physically, he is not as fast as he once was, be he still looks faster than Murray.

His style is similar to Murray. No dancing around, just get up-field.

He did look a bit hesitant at times in regards to contact.

Murray had 11 fumbles last year, McFadden has 14 in 7 years.
McFadden returned some kicks last year and may be a good kickoff return option.
McFadden ran a 4.33 coming out so even if he's lost a fair amount of speed he's likely still homerun fast.

Wow,he looked terrible for the raiders and was replaced by a rookie.

I'm sure he'll be replaced by a rookie here too. If he is on the field, he can certainly pick up a blitzing linebacker and run through the same holes Murray ran through.

Hate to break this to you guys. but i think when all is said and done, McFadden will be the starter this year.

The overreaction to this signing is unbelievable from some of our membership. It's disturbing the way some have drawn the conclusion such as this quote. A little common sense will go a long way sometimes.

This is my vote for thread of the year. Hysterical watching people get their panties in a wad over a dude that got $200,000 guaranteed.

McFadden probably is still pretty fast until he runs into his Oline, falls and gets hurt.

Kind of like this dog who looks fast until he runs into the wall and gets hurt...
