Assuredly this trait should help him get the "dirty yards" Garrett wants. He did look a bit hesitant at times in regards to contact.

We already did this when we tendered Lance Dunbar.Who cares whether they give the money to Darren McFadden or some no name with "potential"?
If he does, that will mean he has returned to form and that would be very good news. If he doesn't return to form, then he won't win the job and Dallas won't pay him much at all. 200K bonus? That is cheap.
I do.
We are being incredibly cheap and crossing our fingers that one of these shots in the dark pays off.
I guess that is the new "doing whatever we want" in free agency.
Better 'risks' than a proven failure.
7 years in the league, we know what this guy is - and what he isn't.
Dallas is not getting Gurley, people! He'll be long gone by pick 27.
Stephen Jackson was going to be long gone the year many (including myself) wanted to draft him...until he was still there and we passed.
who is out there is an every down back. CJ nope, Ridley nope both of those guys are "change of pace" backs they have the ability to run or catch you can line them up anywhere but you are not going to give them 10-15 carries between the tackles you are trying to get them out in space. Now McFadden was an every down RB not saying he will stick but signing him does not necessarily take other RB off the list.
You can't say that about an Oakland Raider.
He's going to be a part-time RB backing up a drafted player most likely. Unless Ryan Williams emerges, which IS possible. He was impressive in preseason last year, and he has pedigree.
I do.

I did a quick review of him on the All-22 from 2014.
He was above average in Pass Protection.
Physically, he is not as fast as he once was, be he still looks faster than Murray.
His style is similar to Murray. No dancing around, just get up-field.

Wow,he looked terrible for the raiders and was replaced by a rookie.
Of course it doesn't. I would have preferred Ridley.
Hate to break this to you guys. but i think when all is said and done, McFadden will be the starter this year.
Murray had 11 fumbles last year, McFadden has 14 in 7 years.
McFadden returned some kicks last year and may be a good kickoff return option.
McFadden ran a 4.33 coming out so even if he's lost a fair amount of speed he's likely still homerun fast.
