LOL.

Gonna fix DT with JAGs.

It's worked well in the past.
3rd highest rated run defender last year according to PFF. That’s a pretty damn good JAG. But hey,

You obviously don’t even research these guys before immediately spouting your hate. He had the 3rd highest rating as a run stopper in the NFL last year according to PFF. That’s a damn good JAG.

A run stopping specialist DE?

How limited is that player in this era? Is there even a thing as a known rushing down anymore?

He's a liability on the pass rush and with the way teams throw the ball these days that means you don't want him on the field.
Fans use DLaw’s run defense to validate his big contract. Maybe we are behind on this new trend that is taking over the league.

Urban's grade against the run should make every Cowboys fan smile. I still think Mike Nolan's scheme was the problem last year but getting a run stuffer here like Urban was a must.

He's not a star and won't have to be. If he can just stop some of those ridiculous jailbreak runs Dallas gave up last year I'm happy.
Stopping the run has been a big problem for several years, under several coaches. This tells me that the players are the problem and upgrades are needed.

I think he would be as well, but he's more of a 3T, and I think we're set at 3T between Gallimore, Urban, Hill, and the other chap we brought in today (the way I see the depth chart at 3T shaping up).
I still have hopes for Gallimore, but the rest of our DL from last year is questionable to me because that DL underperformed so badly.
For me, any talent improvements from last year's defensive debacle is a welcome change.

I do too. I liked what I saw from Gallimore last year. I felt that he was developing nicely, and I think the Steelers game was about when he began to show his capabilities. After Poe got cut (which helped Gallimore show his abilities), I felt DLaw took it as a kick in the pants because he began to play much better. Gregory, when healthy, was okay. The dline needs a lot of help still, and I appreciate the signings lately. Particularly, I like this Urban signing, especially since we were particularly awful against the run.

I like this signing better than the Watkins guy. At least he is good vs the run which if you watched our defense the last couple of years we need more guys that can play the run.

Exactly, and this guy's strength helps address our biggest weakness.

Haha, good point. They did, but Urban was a big reason we struggled in the run game on them. His name was frequently on the PA system.
I like the fact that the Ravens spent a 4th on Urban in 2014,, Ravens like evaluating trenches,, taking some spill off from those that understand the position is good carp food for Jerry and son.
Urban is a nice vet, under the radar,, Jerry gets to dress up in his super hero outfit and pretend like he is the genius that stole a DL that nobody talks about...lol
Doesnt even matter,, good job if they actually found an interior DL that can improve.

Jerry can wear his superhero outfit all he likes if he fixes this defence.

This is a very classless post on your part. You should do some maturing.

#1 job, stop the run.
#2, see #1.

The bottom 10 teams against the run had one thing in common, none made the playoffs. And most are picking high in the draft, the worst 3, 1, 2 and 3.

Exactly, and stopping the run is what he's best at.
