Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign DT Solomon Thomas

Former top 5 pick in 2017 at 6'3 275, 4.69 had 10 TFL his rookie year, was an explosive guy with SF that year. He lost his sister to suicide in 2018 and he hasn't been the same.
He beefed up to 295lbs, moved to the Jets and hasn't done much but he was nominated for the Walter Payton "man of the year award" for his work off the field which has been extensive.

Hahaha.

We struggle to consistently stop the run so in FA we sign a DT that can't really help stop the run.

Awesome sauce.
Right? Surely the FO knows this? It’s like they are signing FAs to prove the point they were active early in FA. Surely these guys would have been around later in the FA period…are any of these guys quality starters; they don’t appear to be better than the players Dallas has lost: a defensive starter and a productive DL providing depth in a weak position group.

We like our free agents well traveled and past their prime! Oh, and most importantly CHEAP!!

This draft class is very deep at running back and dtackle. They could draft 2 at each position.
They could and should. One early and one late at each spot. It is most likely that the late-rounder will be a lot like our other late-rounders and not amount to much (the hit rate is quite low), but you can get lucky. We should not just count on getting lucky at those positions, though, and make them a priority.

I'm laughing at the irony(?) of a team with a horrible run defense going out and signing a DT that is also horrible at run defense.
You have to laugh at this team, I mean there's no other emotion except rage at this point, and it's been that way for so long now, why not just laugh it off!!!! Better things in life to get mad over, not this silly ran organization

Not at all. Just pointing out that people can have blinders on when it comes to watching players on their own team. Sometimes a neutral opinion is best.

Welp he is 29. Been in the league 8 years. Came in as a first rounder. Ceiling talk was as an “explosive pass rusher”. Floor talk was as a tweener DT not stout enough to hold up. 18.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 31 tackles for a loss. 8 seasons. That is like one good season for TJ Watt. Better to be neutral? Better to be honest. Guy is not a needle mover. Sorry.

There will be a good dtackle and running back taken by somebody in this draft in the 5th round.
