Williams is a Tackle. Always was always has been. Dont know why we force to Play him out of Position. He is too light for a Guard. He Needs to Play RT where he can use his quickness and footwork to block Edge Rushers that are heavy pounders that push him into the QB.

Put Collins back to LG and stick Williams to RT.

Connor is still a baby. He's gonna grow into a stronger man. Needs time.

Nice. At least we have someone to put at left guard that doesn’t look like a linebacker

He's probably just depth at this point. We needed it. We've been going light at oline for years, and it bit us.

Marcus Martin out. Chaz done. And Frederick gets a disease. That's the interior line really taking some hits. Su'a-Filo and Redmond are replacing the depth that Looney + (Martin,Green) were supposed to give us on the interior oline.

Roster update: Cowboys bringing in guard help with Xavier Su’a-Filo

There’s a new guard in town.

The Dallas Cowboys could use some help along the interior of the offensive line, and they’ve gone out and gotten some. A former second-round pick is joining the bunch.

You might remember that Xavier Su’a-Filo went just one pick before the Cowboys traded up to select DeMarcus Lawrence in the 2014 NFL Draft. Many beleived that Xavier’s athleticism would translate over from his college days at UCLA, but he has yet to make an impact at the professional level.

Su’a-Filo started all but one game for the Houston Texans over the last two years, but they didn’t bring him back for a fifth season with the team. Since then Xavier has had a cup of coffee with the Tennessee Titans, but they released him back during the finalization of 53-man rosters.

Su’a-Filo played right guard for the Texans during his rookie season back in 2014, but ever since then he’s been a left guard. The Cowboys have their own rookie at left guard in Connor Williams... is this signing an indication that they aren’t exactly pleased there right now? Williams struggled through the preseason and didn’t exactly have a glowing first game as a professional.

We’ll have to wait and see.

Martin's rookie year, they talked about how he needed to work on his power. While making the Pro Bowl.

Most everyone in the trenches needs 2-3 years to get up to full play strength.

He's not a bust. He needs a stronger base. He needs an offseason of weight training.

The guy he was up against (forget his name) is no slouch. He's one of the better DT's in the league. Williams isn't ready for that level of competition yet.
Yes. But this is the NFL where there are plenty of inside DL just as talented.

Don't see a release

The Cowboys have signed guard Xavier Su'a-Filo to a two-year deal that includes a $50,000 signing bonus to help shore up their interior offensive line depth. He worked out for the Cowboys last week. To make room for Su'a-Filo, Kadeem Edwards was released. Su'a-Filo was among the Tennessee Titans final cuts after starting 31 of 32 games in 2016-17 for the Houston Texans. Rookie left guard Connor Williams gave up two sacks at Carolina in Week 1, but the Cowboys believe he will be fine the more he plays.

Not sure why not Cooper. Maybe its an ego thing for Jerry or Stephen that they don't want to bring back a guy they let go before.

Cooper sustained more injuries last season. We already are a bit banged up on the o-line so we need availability 1st and foremost.

But ... but we’re the Great Wall of Dallas part two!!!

We can plug and play anybody right :)

We were when Callahan was our LC. Now we're just a shadow of those OL's. The downfall began when we let
Leary go to Denver and it hasn't gotten better since.
