He never gets injured. This is what makes him stand out from an otherwise china doll team. Don't get me wrong, other than that, he's garbage.
1st- Claibourne (?) 2nd- traded 3rd-Crawford(IR) 4th- Wilbur (not looking good) 5th- Coal(cut) 6th-Johnson(ir) 7th-Hanna
The whole draft class isn't looking too good right now, Claibourne is going to have to develop into a stud for this draft class to have any success.
I liked Cohen, but he is more of a space eater. Marinelli and Kiffin have proven throughout the offseason that, if you can't show some burst and get to the quarterback, the don't want you. I like Carter's measurables. Even if he never plays it's a wash though.
LINK"David was in a battle with Ronald Talley and Talley's strength at the point of attack, the ability to play nose [tackle] stronger was better," he said. "David has a lot of hustle and a lot of effort, but was struggling to hold the point as much as those guys were."
Why the heck is Arkin still in the NFL?
Agreed. He's someone they can develop as a rushman. Found this on a Cardinal website:

Maranelli and Kiff must have signed off on him being a better fit than Cohen, hence the move. I'm going to trust their judgment on this one. He could be a Selvie type for us. I hope he sticks.

Cohen was a nice fit for a few weeks as he knew the defense. Now that we've got Spencer back and Rayford coming up to speed, that's less valuable. We've got room to develop a guy with more rush potential.
The WR move was interesting. Newsome must have popped in their game prep film review to somebody.
Interesting that Cohen let go ahead of Jerome Long.
....Cohen is basically a space eater........a Shariff Floyd type we passed on in the 1st round.
Get drafted last year in a grim looking class. What did Coale do that you'd hate to see him go?

If you don't include Leary, Dunbar, and Beasley, anyway. Then all you have is a starter and two key role players from the actual draft picks. But it only makes sense to count all the college guys who came in from the same group as part of that 2012 class.
Maybe because he is a serviceable young backup with room to grow and develop. I am always amazed at people on this forum who decry the lack of development of olinemen and then want to cut any small school player who doesn't start after a couple of years. It doesn't matter what anybody here sees in Arkin, the team must see something or he'd have been gone long ago. According to some, Kowalski was a potential starter and Arkin was a scrub. Who was kept? and who was cut? This is Bernadeau's last season on this team, and maybe Waters' as well. They will draft a guard and Arkin will be the swing guard next year.
And, more simply: why cut a backup olineman to sign a backup dlineman?
I don't understand the Arkin hate. He hasn't cost this team any games or ever displayed any bad attitude or done anything detrimental to the team. On the contrary, he has played both guard positions this preseason, and even center all of last preseason, without a word of complaint. He did not show that he was an all-pro, but he wasn't a train wreck either. All I can figure is that he was kept and somebody's "pet cat" was not.
