You want the second year of control in case he outperforms in year 1. The guarantees are likely all in year 1, so year 2 essentially is an option.

In all honesty, I don’t even think Stephen and Jerry have a plan.

They probably thought, crap we haven’t signed anybody. We better get going!

They have a plan. It seems to me the plan is always to alter the plan and try and be like whoever won the super bowl. That is what they have done since wades first year.

This whole only the draft thing like the packers and Steelers seems like the new version over the past few years of we don’t know what we are doing so let’s just do this for a few years and see if it works.

I have zero expectations but signing joe Thomas doesn’t change anything good or bad to me

I love how that was somehow a casual statment. That our LB corps is “not much different than last season minus Hitchens”...that means our LB’s went from at best mediocre to really bad. Not sure if you’re aware, but that’s kind of a big deal. Josey Jewell isn’t saving anything either
