He could throw down a hell of a dunk in the day.

Huh?

dude has logged a ton of snaps at Tackle...

With position flex of snaps at G and C??

He's played, but his play has been closer to Byron Bell's than even Cam Fleming's. He's on his third team because of it. I prefer taking a shot on an older player who may be past his starting prime but able to fill in if needed.

Meh. Camp body. Doubt there's much guaranteed.
Obviously has talent , just gotta get it out of him....
Would rather give brandon knight reps
Brandon Knight will get reps. It's a good idea for the Cowboys to hedge their bets just in case Knight doesn't develop.

If Knight proves he's capable of being the swing tackle, then we can cut Erving easily. Otherwise, we have an experienced swing tackle.

This was a move I was expecting.

I was expecting a signing like this, I just thought it was going to be Leary. Looks like he is good at being versatile but don't really want him to start, just to fill in from time to time.

My guess is he is looked at as more of a guard here, and could play T if you absolutely had to have it happen.

My guess is that he is here in case McGovern isn't ready as a G or is needed at C (Nagy, Biadasz, Redmond aren't starting at C)

I think Williams is now the swing tackle. I think they want him to get as many reps at tackle as possible during camp.

Knight isn't a swing tackle. He doesn't play LT. He can swing between RT, RG, and probably LG but I don't think you want him on an island on the left side.

This is a good pickup. Waiting to see the numbers which should not make anyone fall off of their chair.

Can start at LG or be a very quality backup along the line. 27 years old, coming off of a Superbowl season and in his prime.

Between Connor Williams, Conner McGovern, Joe Looney, Tyler Biadasz and Cameron Erving that is some serious competition for the LG and C positions, depth and position flex.

I'm good with what has been done with the o-line this offseason.

Was a really good athlete coming out of Florida State. He was the top performer of the O-line group at the combine with 30 bench reps,112.0 broad jump, and a 7.48 3 cone. He was considered raw since he was a converted DT with only 3 years of O-line experience. Going to the Browns did him no favors to start with. Not sure what's happened in KC over the last couple of seasons. No clue what he brings to the table now, but I love it. I want competition at every position from swing tackle, to punter, to backup QB, and I want all new eyes on them. Let MM choose his own scrubs to never be seen again.

Interesting...good signing. About a Sua’Filo level guard at worst + has position flex.

I like that there will be a lot competition for LG/C/Swing tackle in camp. Last year we kept 11 O-Line on the initial 53 man roster, I could see 10 this year unless they really like a project OT like Hyatt/Steele/Miller.

Tyron, Martin, Collins are all obvious locks

And then let all of the following have an open competition for Lg/C/swing T.

Looney
McGovern
Williams
Biadasz
Erving
Knight
Redmond

I feel perfectly fine we will be good at LG, C, and even backup RT. But if Tyron goes down I’m not sure who I’d want playing LT for an extended period of time. I know most teams have that same issue, but our LT tends to go down more than most.

I think we wanted a veteran tackle to replace Fleming. We've got Williams right now starting at guard with competition from McGovern and Looney, who are also competing at center. We even have Brandon Knight, who filled in adequately at guard and right tackle but isn't suited to play left tackle.

My guess is that if McGovern wins the starting guard spot, Williams will be the swing tackle, but we don't know if that will happen. Williams is the only one we have suited for backing up LT.
