Ok lets go back and look shall we. I said
"Actually my ceiling is much higher for Dalton i was just saying he can easily do what Dak has done with the team and for much less money"
You replied in post 896
"Well he should definitely surpass 8 wins with Garrett not here."
insinuating that JG was holding back the team and was the reason we only one 8 games...fair assumption wouldn't you say?
I replied
"Well if he could win 9-10 and 11 games in a season with Marvin lewis as his coach than i guess he could do it even if JG was still here"
I was insinuating that Marvin Lewis was not a very good coach and if he could do with him than he could do it even with JG
You replied in post 923
"Huh? Marvin Lewis wasn't nearly as bad as JG. He was making playoffs before Dalton even went to TCU"
again the insinuation is that Lewis was a good coach JG was not...follow this and you are saying JG held back the team and Dak
I Replied
"Yup his career 132-121 win loss rrecord (518 win percentage) and 0-7 in the playoffs screams exceptional head coach LOL. At least JG 85-67 win loss record ( 559 win percentage) was 2-3 in the playoffs as a head coach"
Showing that JG did indeed have a better coaching record than Marvin lewis;
You replied in post 943
"Well what do you expect? He had Andy Dalton and Carson Palmer as franchise quarterbacks. At least Garrett had Romo and Dak."

So what you are saying is that if Dak had a better coach he would be having better success..am i missing somthing because by saying that you are making an excuse for Dak.

I'll await your reply
No what I’m saying is Marvin Lewis probably would’ve had a better record had he had Romo and Dak as franchise quarterbacks.

My point is it's not "the work" that you would typically find "regular people" engage in. Like grocery stocking, fast food closer on the weekends. They fly you in, take the limo to the shoot, have a catered lunch, probably a nice hotel before or after.... tended to hand and foot as "the talent".

":work". mkay!

I certainly don;t begrudge him or anyone for it. It's great money and a very sweet gig, far as "work" goes.

True

DAK IS NOT A TOP 5 QB THEREFORE MARKET DOESNT CONCERN HIM AS THE OTHER 28 QBS..I SAID THAT AND DIDNT STUDDER..BYE.. DAKS ON THE TAG JERRY AGREES..
Hes a top 5 qb under the age of 30. And that should be enough. Hes a top 10 qb. Every individual stat and analytic measurement proves that.

Not sure I get where you're coming from? Dak is my favorite player, but I'm happy to have a good veteran back up. I think all Dak supporters and fans are in the same boat.

Unfortunately, Dak is not signed yet (and no guarantee he will sign) and until he does Dalton is not a backup he is our QB1 as of today.

Don't get mad at me for this. I got nothing to do with it, but it is..what it is.

Do you get where I'm coming from now?

Stop with the endorsements nonsense. That's extra work. Would you be happy having to give up your weekends to get paid what you should earn?

Y'all are literally arguing that our QB should shut up and get a side hustle to make more money.
No the argument is the availability of the side hustles, every athlete capitalize on endorsement deals due to their celebrity. The argument is that his celebrity status is a direct result of which team he plays for, versus his God given abilities. What would be Dak's marketability if he was QB for ANY other team?

So he should accept less money than wentz and goff who he has outplayed in 4 years? They didnt even have to fight for their money must be nice not to have an owner from arkansas. Lets not forget hes already made 15 million less than both of them from their rookie deals
This isn’t about catching up because he was a 4th round pick . He could have held out at amytime during his Rookie contract.

Dak wants to be the highest paid QB. Is that what you’re endorsing as well?

Dak has stated in the past that he's relying strictly upon his agent to do what's best. Evidently, his agent is the one demanding a shorter contract. The Cowboys FO is intent upon signing him and has said this all along. What's obviously holding things up is his agent's stubborn refusal to accept an already generous contract offer with the notion of demanding yet another one a year or two sooner.
Sorry but I disagree. Long term contract were the norm in the NBA because it allowed owners to keep money in their pockets. Once LeBron took control of his career and started signing short contracts then all star players started to do it. NFL agents have become hip to this. Daks agent is asking for a shorter contract is not the first as Kirk Cousins actually turned the trick a few years ago and has already cashed in on a bigger check. Zeke got bamboozled into a long contract as well while McCaffreys agent demanded a shorter contract which allows McCaffrey to have another big contract while he is still in his prime. The problem is JJ is opposed to change.

Me personally I watch the games for the players. Sure Jerry is entertaining in a frustrating type of way but give the players the money. Sure they make too much to play a kids game but I like that kid game and I only watch it because of the players.

Its low........but I wish I could say I'm shocked but I'm not. Its the same usual suspects. And when we sign Dak we are going to hear about how its setting us back 30 years and blah blah blah......
Most fans believe Dak should be paid. And handsomely like top 5 in the league. So don’t lump us all in together.

If you believe Dak deserves to be the highest paid QB in the league at this time then I’d argue you are in the minority of Cowboy fans.

It will be 3rd highest very shortly. If watson gets signed b4 dak the price will go up again. Dak could have been signed last off season for 32-34m. Jerry dragged his feet now it will cost him.

It’s not about what it will be shortly. That’s pure speculation. It’s about what it is now.

I would have just rolled with DiNuccii that was just drafted. Dalton is a proven loser. He is terrible in the playoffs if we need him during a stretch run. The best shot Cincy had at winning a playoff game was when Dalton was injured and McCarron was playing. We are now going to pay him a minimum $1 million more than Dak made last year to ride the pine, probably never play, and probably lose if he does play.

I suppose the way I see it is that Dalton is a similar signing to Vinny Testaverde or, as Mark Holmes said, Jon Kitna. In the case of Kitna, he was never a threat to take over from Romo. However, he was serviceable when we needed him. Like Vinny, he can be a useful mentor to DiNucci and, interestingly, Dak.

He bases everything he says off of what he can calculate on a piece of paper. His little business degree allows him to do that. He knows absolutely nothing about what goes on, on the field. My bet is he’s never played, coached or scouted any level of athletics in his life. You can’t argue with the second chair trumpet player because they just don’t know the game.

He hasn't been a regular on the highlight reel the past four years but if one is going to be realistic, that cupboard was bare. Dalton could do well with the talent and coaching here in Dallas for a couple of years if necessary.
….then we'll see, if it comes down to that. Right?
