Sounds like Schultz has some competition for that "mostly useless 3rd string TE" role now.

Wow -- Blake Bell is one hell of an athlete! Should be intriguing to see what C'boys can do with such a versatile & physical specimen!

This is a bones fassell pick guys.. Bell can also be a ball holder on field goals and is known to be a pretty accurate and athletic QB. This is the guy Fassell will use for trick plays which he loves to run.

THIS is a very low risk high reward signing. He is a great blocker and this may spell the end for Schultzie. Camp gonna be fun.

Way to go Dallas!!! We have to make sure we can't have a TE break a 4.7 forty. Be a deep threat for any reason!!! Sign a TE who might have been slower than a 38 year old Witten

That’s what I thought. Could be an interesting specialty player, who could be a great wildcat option on the goal line or short yardage. This could be an under rated signing.

Why would anyone expect this of Bell? He has been in the league for 5 years now and hasn't shown any of this. He was not an accurate QB while in college and has not attempted a pass in the NFL. He was not a good runner in college. He averaged 3.5 yards per rush at OU and has yet to have a rushing attempt in the NFL. He is a camp body.

Perfectly fine depth signing, but where the heck is Jarwin's competition?
They have Cole Hikutini who is a similar h-back receiving type TE, came out same draft class as Jarwin.

2017
STRENGTHS Above average size for a move tight end. Moves well in space. Able to bend linebackers and safeties out of position with certain routes. Good acceleration out of his turns to separate and present quarterback with easier throws. Good in short zones. Seam-buster with speed to attack over the top of linebackers and run under the deep ball. Plus ball skills. Can track it and adjust in space. Natural hands pluck it away from his frame. Has speed and athleticism to extend plays after the catch. Dangerous mismatch option near goal line. Wins the 50/50 throws. Positional blocker who gives just enough effort to occupy defender in space.

A blocking TE.
Should be a nice 3rd TE option instead of some people's wishful thinking Geoff Swaim reunion.

Still need a good backup receiving TE option behind Jarwin.
Getting a " real" legit blocking FB would be nice too.

They should have signed Parham from the XFL...surprised they let him get out of Dallas. Pretty sure we are gonna rue this.

Nice! From my hometown. Watched this kid play high school football.
A great addition , This kid is all heart and a great blocker . He has great hands as well. Played some QB as well at OU and beat Notre Dame at South Bend .

I like this signing. Mike McCarthy has always made use of multiple TE's. Bell and Schultz will probably see about the same number of snaps.

We've all complained about ST. Then they hire a player to help with this and some say he's a scrub TE. Sometimes...

Exactly. He will serve a purpose on the offense and will be a help on special teams. We need guys to do the dirty work. People should give him a chance.
