Great news. Feel more confident for the next 2 drafts as to get this team together and some much needed depth.
But will the coaching staff be able to do their jobs?
With the new assistants there is some hope there. Garrett just needs to make better in game decisions and better game time manager and adjustments.

So he continues to tolerate the old senile, his buffoon son and the clapper. Not sure this guy is really the genius he's believed to be.

I like him.

I just wish I knew if he was as anti free agency and Trades as Stephen Jones has been.

If he is one of the guys pushing that agenda then I wish we would've let him go.

Other then that I like the job he's done in the draft overall.

Good for him! It can't always be easy working with the Jones boys but McClay handles it well.

I would think it's quite easy to work with them.

If you're in a situation where the people who make the decisions are quite knowledgeable then it's tougher to sway them when you disagree. The Joneses don't go out and review players. They leave it up to McClay and his staff to do that. Now, they may do something stupid if they really like a guy in the first round (like Jerry wanted to do with Manziel) but most of the time they are going to listen to their experts.

It's those times that I'm referring to. That and the fact that Will McClay does the GM work while Jerry Jones egotistically clutches onto the GM title.

I feel McClay gets a lot of praise just because his last name isn’t Jones....his title says he’s in charge of pro personnel as well and to be perfectly honest, he’s doing a fairly terrible job at that. I look up and down the roster and see a sheer lack of talent. Obviously that doesn’t go all on McClay, but I don’t know if fans should be cheering that anyone in the front office is back after the off season the team had last year.

My wish the past few years has been the desire to bring someone in who can help identify defensive talent. We do great on offense, not so much on our defensive picks. Maybe these young defensive backs will pan out so time will tell there, but we've spent some resources on defense and just can't seem to get a solid unit out there without the offense protecting them with ball control.

that's great news. let's make these next few years count as he will definitely get offered a gm job again and again
