Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign WR Parris Campbell

This Campbell signing tells me that Tolbert might not make the team. They can still sign a veteran wide receiver and draft a receiver in round 1.

If Campbell makes the final roster for this team, then they’ll be in even worse shape than imagined.
I freaking know this won’t stop them from signing other players. It’s a waste of time/focus on week one of FA.
Players like this can be had anytime.
If Campbell makes the roster, it will mean that he had a fantastic training camp.

I am just saying we don’t know what the team thinks. I would not be surprised if the Cowboys think they are ok at receiver and offensive linemen. I mean how many balls is the second receiver going to get when all you hear is the team wants to be tough and run the ball. Do you invest a top 15 pick on player that will get limited touches.

Yeah truly, and they extended Turpin and traded for Mingo. They may see those as the rest of 1-3. It's dumb, but so are they.

In 6 years Campbell:
4 teams
Receptions: 123
Receiving yards: 1,117
Receiving touchdowns: 6

What is that so awesome about his career it will push Tolbert off the 53?

Seems all his Google hits are from his college days.

1st 4 yrs w Indy - 5 TDS (3 in his last year) 11.25 yd avg; 63 recs his last year - 24.25 avg. all 4 yrs.

NY & Philly he went down to 5.1 yd avg. Had 20 recs with NY only 6 w Philly, but did get a TD.

Only thing that stands out is his 4.31 speed.

As much as I want Jeanty idk what we’re going to do at WR. It’s Lamb, Turpin who you cant trust they will utilize properly, and a room full of a JAGs. One Lamb injury away from disaster.

It’s not dumb if you spend the first 3 picks on a cornerback, defensive lineman, and a running back that would help the team more than a decoy receiver. Plus you still have veteran receivers available in free agency.

Great but we need starters, practice guys you can get anytime.
I certainly agree.

If this signing happened just before training camp no one would bat an eye but since there were serious posters saying we should sign Tee Higgins or trade for Garrett, it just shows that there’s just no way for this board to evaluate almost any signing without comparing it to all-pro players.

What if they draft a WR in the 44 or 76?

I don’t list 12 because I don’t think there is going to be one worth the pick at that spot.

Those stats are misleading. He has ability. He was injured his first 2 years with the Colts and with the Eagles you can certainly see why he didn't get playing time on the best team in the league.

Campbell has always had tools, but he came into the league as a RB/WR hybrid player who made his living on jet sweeps and hitches in college. He has not developed any further at all since he came into the league. The man literally cannot run routes. It's at best a body, but not one that will be a factor this year.
