No, what I am telling you is that drafting a DL is helpful but it doesn't solve the immediate problem IMO. The choice of DL is what Stephen said the team will do.

But as for Stephen, as you said, Stephen made that comment months ago, before signing McCoy and Poe. Surely you would allow that circumstances have changed since that comment.

Bridges, but not necessarily 1 year bridges. Or at least not in the case of McCoy. I don't know that I've definitively hear what kind of deal Poe will get. Seems like I've heard 1-2. In any case, I agree that doesn't prohibit signing a DT, but I don't think they will feel pressured to get one high in the draft if one they like isn't on the board when they pick.

With 1.5m 2021 guaranteed money now, looks like McCoy is designed for 2. Details aren't up on Poe yet. The contract is only 2 years.

We don't have to reach. Maybe they're even *planning* on standing pat to take another year to evaluate Hill.

You are making excuses for why Dez sucked after he signed his second contract putting it on everyone other than Dez. There is a reason he hasn’t been signed by another team.

I have heard how if we cut Dez he would be signed to a mega deal and we would rue the day! Well that hasn’t happened yet.

Teams have seen Dez’ workouts because they are being posted periodically. Yet no one has bitten yet. Why do you think that is?

We just SIGNED a guy and agreed to pay him real money who hasn’t even been reinstated yet based on the fact that he MIGHT play this year.

We haven’t done the same with Dez. What does that tell you? They either think he can’t play (most likley) or that he is a real problem (most likley) or both (even more likely). Follow the money trail. It will tell you who teams think can still can play and who cannot.

Look, I don't know what went on behind closed doors, but I do know a motivated and healed dez bryant could potentially be a great piece for a team. Remember, the Saints kicked the tires but he got hurt. You may very well be right and he is done, but knowing the type of competitor Dez is, and all he is gone through, I just not convinced that he is done. Dez Bryant is a very emotional guy, and I'm not sure that he hasn't gone through enough over the last few years to emotionally reset him. At this point I guess we will see whom is right. If Dez gets no offers then he is done in the NFL, but if someone gives him a chance and he is productive, that means I'm right.

kwyn....oh wow ..shredded ?....Riser said Smith is all Will McClay....i know this might be pipe dream but imagine Smith and Gregory coming back and against all odds tearing it up?..the 11.5 sacks we lost in Quinn turns into 15-20 and Lawrence has another break out year?...these guys along with upgrading interior D line and imagine Dallas is 50+ sacks for 2020?...that would be nice...but of course all pipe dreams are nice in offseason

I would want Woods back, but wasn’t there an incident late last season? Maybe it was pot? If so, maybe not as big a deal anymore.

I don't agree. The goal is to win a championship. In two to three years, a guy you draft along the DL might, might, be ready to become an effective starter. However, by then, the window is closed and so the opportunity is gone. I mean, that's the whole point right? RDE is what we are really talking about here, is it not? We have young players at both DT positions in Woods, who has starting experience, and Hill who will hopefully develop into a starter. At RDE, the only real player we have who we can say has been on the team the last few seasons is Armstrong. Now I'm very hopeful that he turns the corner this season but to this point, he hasn't really show enough to get snaps so it's obviously a concern. This is the position we are talking about here. It's not DT.

That is the reality of maintaining a roster for a current NFL team. Most agree that the drafting elements are pretty good for Dallas, and has the addition of the current coaching staff for an upgrade.

Some teams are successful at doing just this type of adjustment and getting more effective, both in roster and in the cap. It does happen...

Me, I'm a Dallas fan. I won't substitute emotion and agenda for reasoning and support. That, in a final analysis, is crazy...not just sound basics.

First, you have not explained the dynamics involved at present, to declare why failure and not success is at work in the present. Things have changed that do affect the current progressions. I don't buy a stereotyped agenda, myself.

The defense, at the very least, has a potential to greatly expand play. The past excuses be damned, until logic can be proven wrong.

Such successes based upon selection and gambling has paid off grandly for the Cowboys, twice in their history, with dynasty like affects.

Leave out the my not understanding or your not chosen own stance as the negative. Prove your case now...
