Once again you have no clue what your talking about. Poor fella.

No retort. You could have just not responded.

And you bring up Johnson being 30, you overlook the fact that every one of us "naysayers" said we'd want Peterson here on a cheap contract. The same with Johnson.

Stephen Jones said he's on the short list of RBs they'd bring in if needed, there IS interest. We just seem to think McFadden is the second coming.

I'm keeping an eye on May 12th. I believe that's the date where teams can sign free agents without it having an effect on their compensatory picks for the following year.

At that point, the Cowboys can sign anyone they choose and keep any and all compensatory picks they're now entitled to.

As he should be. Why wouldn't you get a proven back in this league? CJ hasn't been the 2,000 yard back that he was, but he's more proven than anything we have now. AD would be nice, but we could get CJ here and see what he does without giving up picks or players.

Key word, "WAS" a proven back, six years ago, he's been a declining player for four years, lost his burst, was shot just over a month ago where another person was killed and involved in gun charges...NO THANKS!!

Not what your posts say you may want to go back and review. Poor fella.

There is absolutely no reason other than cost, the two RBs aren't even remotely comparable. Heck, Johnson practically had as many yards in 2013 as AD (15 fewer total yards), and had more in every year before 2011 yet people are willing to trade a first for AD but not willing to sign CJ2K off the streets... I don't get it at all.

A few things to consider. Johnson is a small back that relies on his speed. If Peterson loses a step he will still be productive with his size and power. If CJ loses a step then he lost the 1 thing that made him great. So what's left is a small back who is no longer faster than every one else.

As far as McFadden. He isn't known as a guy who considers himself to be a superstar. He will split carries without feeling disrespected. Chris Johnson was upset over his carries with the Jets last year and let it be known.

There is much more to consider than just who had how many yards in 2011 ect.
Team chemistry is huge.

I have said multiple times that I'd take Peterson on small contract. I did say I still wanted a rookie over him though, but the draft is over, I'd take either Peterson or Johnson on a small contract over what we have right now.

Cowboys' Stephen Jones: Chris Johnson on team's 'short list'
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com

Free-agent running back Chris Johnson recently said he'd love to join the Cowboys. Though the Cowboys aren't in any rush to add another running back, Johnson isn't too far off the team's radar.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones was asked about Johnson in a conference call with season-ticket holders. Via the team's website, Jones said the team has at least some interest in Johnson.

“We haven’t visited with Chris, and we can’t talk about him because he’s a free agent. But right now we’re looking at the guys that we have on our roster,” Jones said. “He is somebody that is on a short list of ours that we think could ultimately come in and do some good things for us if we asked him to. But I wouldn’t say it’s a priority right now.”

After running for 2,006 yards in 2009, Johnson has been unable to live up to expectations since. With the Jets a year ago, Johnson only totald 663 yards and one touchdown while notching just one start.

The Cowboys added Darren McFadden this offseason after DeMarco Murray left for Philadelphia. Joseph Randle, Lance Dunbar and Ryan Williams are the other backs on the roster.

I'd prefer seeing what Knowshon has left.

Ok but you also made it clear you did not want a 30 yr old RB. It is what is I would rather CJ and his me first personality stay away from this team.

It's true, Johnson has an ego and has stated he's always disliked a two back system. But I think his issue has always been the second back having near-equal or equal number of carries.

No, I said I didn't want to trade for a 30 year old RB with a large contract. Even those who want AP didn't want to give up much for him in a trade, I'm saying I don't want to trade for him at all.

And CJ has had controversial comments about two RB sets, Peterson may refuse to play when he's making money that some RBs in this league can only dream about. You're saying Johnson has a "me first" attitude? Both seem the same, if you ask me.

Absolutely correct
Team chemistry is very important and we've already added a ton of new parts
For a great talent like AP you make an exception not for CJ2K of the Latter Day Saints

This is all I need to know about this guy who plays for one person and that is himself. Throughout his career this guy is well known as a "me" player. Keep him off this team besides he doesn't fit into the over 30 equation the three anti AD naysayers pointed out.

Interest between Johnson and the Cowboys doesn't appear to be mutual. Going on 30, Johnson hasn't drawn a lick of interest since the Jets declined his option earlier this offseason.

Well said, stay thirsty my friend :hammer:

They don't have the same perceived personality even in the slightest. CJ is a me first player always has been.

I'm backing off. CJ2K might be a total flame out and a problem in the locker room.

So you would like to have AP in a Dallas uniform?

Of course I would. I'd even give a conditional 1 and Carr. High price tag but Carr doesn't seem to be willing to take a pay cut and the 1 would be on an NFC championship appearance so around slot 30. Carr's contact would just be ported over to AP.

Madden type numbers with AP behind this line. The best back in this generation + a possible generational great line = PAIN for opponents.

********. The guy is lucky to not be in jail and he's *****ing at a team that gave him one of the biggest contracts an RB has ever had.

What the hell more is a "me first" player? Stop. He and his agent are money hungry and they DO NOT care about the success of the Vikings. They are only worried about getting money for themselves.

Which tells you a lot about what he'd want if he came here.
