I am seriously starting to wonder, if this retread strategy has any legs, the FO is eyeing either JFB or Mike Evans round one.
No way either can be seriously considered. Even a blind man can see neither player does anything to help this defense.I am seriously starting to wonder, if this retread strategy has any legs, the FO is eyeing either JFB or Mike Evans round one.
Vikings not doing other teams any favors with huge contract to a mediocre DE. With 40 million in cap room it appears intentional and strategical to place some teams out of the market.
I know the D-Line is looking at what appears to a 100% overhaul in the making if they don't try to resign Hatch, but...
That line was miserable WITH him last year. Yeah- he was the bright spot, but given the totality of his career- combining his age, which considering his own quotes means nothing to him, but is still a very real concern...
No way I would resign him to a long, lucrative contract.
Like many others here have said- YOUTH.
Youth, youth and more youth. Let's also add some hunger and some speed, if you please.
Players hungry to prove themselves (youth) to make more money and more speed (youth) to get to the QB and chase down those RB's.
That's the secret to success fellas. Get the guys that want, nay- need to succeed.
Those are the guy that will practice harder, study film longer, hunger more vigorously so that they can make their mark.
THEN we can hash out whether to pay those dudes, or restock with more guys who are younger, and have that fresh desire to prove themselves to make that money and their mark like their predecessors.
Not old mercenaries who are on their waning legs and already knowing they are but a few more years to their retirement with a sense of entitlement.
Next on @1053thefan .. Valley Ranch source: #Cowboys have initiated preliminary talks with FA D-linemen Hatcher & Spencer. Let's slice it up

I hope so. The laughs from the posters on this board would be pure gold. JFB would be my dream come true in this draft.

As long as people are okay with more growing pains on the line.
