He was with the Rams the past 4 seasons and we all know the running attack the Rams unleashed against Dallas in the playoffs.

I like having somebody with experience in that zine of running scheme.

This tells me Elliott must not have been all that fond of Brown. Otherwise, he’d have put a word in once they lost their first two options to just maintain the status quo.

Out of all of MMS hires, this makes me the least happy.

But I trust what he is doing

I don't.....hate this hire. People gotta realize...Green Bay fired him for a reason. He doesn't have any street cred w/ me. As far as I'm concerned...Rodgers made McCarthy. And if he comes in here w/ his buddies..and goes 8-8...we can start this process all over again in 2021.

I didn't get that impression at all.
I took it more as more of a taking charge and control new head coach coming in and putting a stamp of discipline and new direction to
this.
And Zeke is already going to address his push for brown to McCarthy who he doesn't even know after the small amount of time McCarthy has been here upon his arrival?

Not anymore of the good back pat buddy system and I'm still left with an impression that something happened between the previous coaches plans and direction that change the structure of Zeke Elliott.

And Dont get me wrong, I do not think it's gonna be hardcore and militant discipline, as I think peete is going to have an outstanding rapport and mutual respect with Elliott over time.

Don't worry, Moore will sabotage him and take over mid season.

I find it odd that many spent years complaining about coaching but now that we are getting new coaches, are complaining we got rid of the coaches they always complained about.

It just seems they looked at a bunch of guys before settling on a guy that worked here for years already. He was at least their third or fourth choice. Which means Brown was pretty far down the ladder to not even win the tiebreaker with their third or fourth option.

Keep the coaches that actually coach.

Don't fix what's not broken.

We are trying to win a super bowl.

My guess is that they felt he got too buddy-buddy with the running backs and wanted someone who would be more coach and less friend.

I believe you might’ve hit the nail on the head there.

Many have complained about the country club atmosphere surrounding the team and how it makes players champion themselves simply because they’re Dallas Cowboys. I am glad that virtually the entire staff has turned over. No more former Cowboys players without prior coaching experience simply because they’re “family” - let them get out there and earn their stripes and then come back into the fold. Why should a team trying to compete have training wheels? No more hiring from within like when Rich Bisaccia left to join Gruden in Oakland, Jerry promoted unqualified “family” from within in Keith O’Quinn and we see where that got us, didn’t we?

The way this team underachieved, I don’t want ANY meeting room to feel comfortable to anyone - starters or otherwise. A new staff should mean everyone has to prove themselves to their new coaches. Oh, Zeke isn’t comfy with Peete? Good. Amari doesn’t like to be punished for loafing? Too bad. Jaylon more focused on Team Jaylon than Team Cowboys? Here’s the bench, Mr Entrepreneur.

The team needed an enema, sports fans, and we got one. I just pray that it was the right brand and that it works.

Brown did a good job but he seemed a little too chummy with the RBs. More of a friend than a coach, it looked like. I dont know... i could be talking outta my arse.

I never was that find of Gary Brown. IMO, he was soft on the RBs and was more concerned with being a big brother / daddy figure than making sure they were in shape / ready to go.

As far as Peete is concerned, when he was here the running game was strong and productive. I don't blame him the the RBs never getting more than 240 rushes in a season, something Elliot has gotten every year, even when he was suspended for 6 games. When they were given the rock, more times than not, they did something with it.

I like the hire.
